I've been doing some research on garlic. And there seems to be a little bit of confusion over it's anti-fungal qualities.
Some people claim that it causes intolerance like symptoms, involving headaches, gas, body odour, outbreaks...
And then others claim that it is such a strong anti-fungal, that it is killing of candida and the die-off, or the Herxheimer Reaction, causes quick detox symptoms from the release of toxins upon ingestion.
I'm getting some gas and headaches, despite not being full raw, after I eat garlic. (I'm weird, I just suck on a clove.) Wondering whether this would be a negative or positive reaction. Shed some light? Insight? :)

If you're having issues with it, stop eating it. Not every food is meant for everyone at all times. Garlic is best used in moderation as a flavor enhancer or to heal an illness. Occasionally to boost the immune system as well. If you dice it and soak it in lemon juice or vinegar to remove the toxins or use deodorized garlic extracts/aged garlic, you can consume it more often. Onion for me is more toxic so I rarely eat it.

IF you want to include garlic... try juicing it or marinating it before consumption.
dice up the garlic and add extra virgin olive oil... then add that to your greens in a salad!
when i eat... i can't eat garlic or onions. both cause extreme bloating for me. but i can juice them no problem.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, garlic is extremely hot and pungent. If you already have a heat condition in your body, garlic can exacerbate it.

Aleesha has right.
You must garlic early prepare before consumption
You must cutting for small pieces.

eating big chunks of garlic is like licking a teaspoon of wasabi. a big headache and a stroke to the brain is what you are asking for. not a real stroke but hell chewing on a clove of garlic sure does feel like you are blowing up your skull. :p

How long have you been sucking on garlic and how many cloves a day? :)
The most powerful compounds derived from garlic are Allicin and Diallyl Sulphide. Neither of these compounds occur naturally in garlic. They are produced only when the garlic is finely chopped or crushed, and allowed to sit for a few minutes. (Both are destroyed when the garlic is cooked.)
One clove a day is enough. Use 3 cloves a day when fighting off a cold or infection. (Space it out over the day, not all 3 at once!) Too much garlic can irritate or damage the digestive tract. Too much can also make your skin smell and taste like garlic.

See! LOL! I totally agree with this. You beat me to it!
:) I personally also find that I lose a lot of my focus with too many onions or too much garlic. It's not just me, but I have to be careful about what I put in my body for both health and clarity... but I'm happy to never take ADHD meds anymore! So it's all good.
ALSO, I find that dehydrating onions and garlic helps quite a lot. I just rub a mix of olive oil and salt in them then dehydrate until they are soft. The flavor is sooo nice that way. You might like that? Just throwing that out there! :)

I accidently added too much garlic in my quinoa salad, because I didn't think it would be enough in my big salad bowl. And for the past week, my breath has been kicking no matter how much I brush my teeth and rinse my mouth.
My mouth feels like I have licked a skunk. I sure will be careful not to overdue the garlic next time.
