canned water chestnuts and bamboo shoots

are these raw? I got some because I didn't find any in whole form.

The ingredients just say water chestnuts or bamboo shoots and water. no preservative...

but Im thinking they must have at least cooked them..

If they're canned, they're cooked.

They have to heat them up to kill the bugs in the can otherwise the can would start to expand and eventually explode.

If you have an asian market anywhere near you, you might find both raw in there. Well, raw or dried. :)
