View Full Version : Could milk cause gas?
I am miserable, can't draw a full breath without pain in my right side.
I injested milk Sunday evening for the first time since 8/15 had what I thought was a protein drink now for two days I'm bloated and feel terrible. Anyone have remedies? First I tried the bending up and down to get things moving no results then dome baking soda in water it helped briefly. Now the pain is bad again. I'm open to suggestions.

I don't have any remedies, but I know from personal experience that milk products can really mess with one's gut, especially if you've been off them for awhile.
I hope you're able to get some relief soon. I know that is a most miserable feeling.

Diary milk I assume? I don't think milk is good for us as much as they lead on. It's not something you NEED in your diet. You can live without it. I love making Nut Milk with almonds ground with water and some fresh vanilla bean. I like it so fresh that its made on the spot. I won't keep it in the fridge past a day. It's a great substitute. As for the way you feel right now, stay away from the milk. ;)
um, yeah!
dairy milk does all sorts of wonky messy stuff to the gut. especially the junk in the stores.
i have some friends who swear by goat's milk that is raw.
almond not-milk is a breeze for most ~ but is still a nut base ~ so sometimes combining with other foods like fruits and whathaveyou can be a gas. hehe. ;)
It was cows milk. And I've tried a col different things and I'm doing better. I won't ever make that mistake again.

If you do, because we all seem to do these silly things, try a day or two of water fasting. :)

I was always a SAD eater. When I started raw I went without cow milk for like 2 weeks. Then one day I had a bowl of cereal and I felt bloated and sick. After that moment I knew it was bad for my body. I have always liked milk, but now I drink Almond milk. My bloating only last a day. So once it gets out of your system you should be fine. Just don't drink it again!

Ferb, glad you are better. When I first read your post I thought gall bladder. I know that pain well. Right side, under the ribs and can't take a full breath without pain. Just wanted to suggest this in case you experience it again
I'm glad it has nothing to do with your gall bladder as pointed out by Dawn.
I'm not a dairy milk drinker, but sometimes i just feel like drinking it. More often than not, a have this strange feelings in the stomach. But it dies down after few minutes.
Now we are considering to have soya milk.

Of course it does! (at least for me) ;)
I have ulcerative colitis, and dairy has NOT been my friend. If you want to see the Exorcist reenacted live, give me cow milk. I don't do well with soy either, so that is not an option.
I drink coconut milk (pressed from the meat, not the water inside). It has medium chain fatty acids which are processed immediately by the liver and converted into energy rather than stored. Sometimes I make my own almond milk, which tastes fantastic; I soak the almonds overnight and rinse, and I just put it all in the blender and I don't even strain it, to keep the fiber in. I'll just shake it well before using.
I work with a gentleman from India who swears bison milk is good for those who are lactose intolerant, but I have never found it here. I don't want to risk an adverse event anyhow.
