View Full Version : Feeling weird after a juice

I've been juicing with fruits and veggies like carrot, celery, cucumber, cantaloupe, strawberry, banana, and other extremely yummy ones.
Today I tried a combination of cucumber, celery, carrot, cilantro, and garlic.
I didn't mind the taste, but my stomach felt weird. It wasn't quite a stomach ache but it felt funny. My head also felt like it wanted to bring on a headache, but didn't quite reach that point. I'm wondering if it was the garlic? Does this mean I should avoid using garlic? I typically don't eat raw garlic.

Make the same combination without the garlic and see.

It's a pretty common intolerance, from what I understand. I know that I can't handle garlic, raw or otherwise.
I agree, try it without and see what happens.

Oops yeah sorry, I blend the banana with juice.
Ah yeah I read the liver detox section. A bit of discomfort is normal then? I suppose it makes sense since that body will be working hard to cleanse.

Could be garlic... I know never to eat raw garlic again (at least for me).
I had heard it was good for cleansing and yeah I'm sure it is, but it's really bad on digestion. I was just eating them to "cleanse" myself, little did I know I realized what was making me feel worse was raw garlic...
I'm just mad that I didn't realize it sooner. I stopped eating raw garlic and am feeling better. I assume what happened is the garlic sure it cleansed me of harmful bacteria... but also whipped all the good bacteria too! And even though I was taking probiotics it didn't seem to replenish it fast enough or at the same rate that the raw garlic was destroying every thing.
I would suggest to just not take garlic or onions raw. That's just my opinion.

considering you can't seem to eat much (see link (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?t=62361))... i wouldn't take 'don't eat garlic' too seriously
