Hello!
I just wanted to report on a raw ingredient I've found that accelerates my healing from acne, whether I've fallen off the raw wagon or not. Raw ground flax seeds in water, right before bed, works super well. I take 2 tablespoons. Then I wash my face (just regular soap!) and use coconut oil for a moisturizer. If I do this, without fail, my skin is better the next morning. Every time. When I stop, my skin breaks out again. My guess is that it's mostly working as an anti-inflammatory. Areas that were already inflamed and starting to get worse are much smaller the next morning. No new acne appears when I do this. Google suggests that it could also be the fiber and lignans working on hormonal imbalances.
I've tried flax oil, and even grinding my own flax from cheaper brands at the bulk bins. Nothing works as well as the pre-ground Spectrum Organics stuff. Don't ask me why. I have no idea.
Hope this helps people frustrated with slower detox. :)

thanks for the tip! I keep meaning to eat more flazseeds, but I haven't been making any green smoothies lately, and that's usually how I eat them.

Are those pre-ground ones from spectrum actually "milled" vs being ground?

Are they powdery or are they almost like sliced flax seeds?

Just curious.

Thanks for sharing.

I think it's the omega 3's...I had a friend who was eating a near fruit diet and still had some acne issues and added greens and viola! No more acne...greens are also high in omega 3's.

...and yes, I think it's something anti-inflammatory?

I'm an acne sufferer and still trying to clear up my skin. It's most definitely hormonal. I've been drinking about 24oz of green juice/day for 6 days or so. I'm definitely noticing some improvement but I still get these oil ball things on my shoulders, back, and cheeks. I just wash my face with raw honey and have been hitting the greens hard. I don't eliminate fruit entirely from my diet though. I don't think I could.

Other things:

1) Bentonite clay face mask.

2) Epsom salt baths.

3) Papaya pulp & cucumber extract wrapped in a collard leaf, applied to face as a mask.

4) Cold pressed olive oil baths with rosemary! Greeks used this. Oil pulling is just a part of this "pulling" technique which works even more effectively, in this reader's opinion. Consider the number of pores, openings, orifices on the human body: point made. You could probably even add some epsom salt, since somebody suggested ingesting this + oil for kidney stones!

It might be the omega-3s! I've been using hemp seeds in my salads and also notice a huge improvement.
