I've been doing alot of research lately on parasite cleanses and colon cleanses.

I've been really considering that parasites may be the reason why I've had health problems in the first place. Thinking that it is probably the main reasons for others too. I find that some doctors online that does look into that area first before anything else.

So is there anyone who knows how to be successfully parasite free and for the long run too?
Please please please share your experiences in successfully eliminating them from the body and keeping them away.
What works and what doesn't and such.
Many thanks for those who replies to this thread.

And I'm asking this so that I can enjoy the rest of my life to the fullest with vibrant health and so that others can too!! :)

I know that this isn't a pleasant or an easy subject to talk about at all!!! I think it needs to be addressed, because what if that is the one of the root for everyone's health problems besides eating SAD.

I went to the vitamin store and picked up Para-Shield by Gaia.

I read a great deal of information on parasite cleanse and the main herbs that keeps coming up is Black Walnut Hull, Wormwood, and Cloves that is good for a parasite cleanse. I found alot of useful information. I'm thankful to be able to collect great info from the Internet.

I may take the suggestion from this one article to do a parasite cleanse for three months instead of one month just to be sure.

After the cleanse, I will do the parasite cleanse every six months. Even if I don't think I have any. I will still do one anyways.

The question is what is the BEST parasite cleanse to do?

It would be nice to hear from those who have successfully have gotten rid of parasites from their body and share what has worked for them and tips on ways to keep them at bay.

Edit Update: At this point I don't know if I have any or not, it's just I think it's a good idea to do one once or twice a year. And it just made me wonder if it had anything to do with the health problem that I had a couple years ago and was able to reverse it with raw food.

I have never done a parasite cleanse, but I have read of many people that have released tons of parasites after doing colon cleanses.

Hi Whoa.
I have used Brenda Watson's Renew Life products in the past. She has a Paragone cleanse for parasites. I would use this for myself if I was going to do a parasite cleanse. I have used her liver/gallbladder 30 day cleanse with MUCH success.

The thing about parasites is that you need to do a cleanse and then repeat it within a couple weeks. You may kill parasites in your system but their eggs have to hatch out and then you go back and kill those.

You may feel funny aches and pains or flu-like symptoms as you cleanse. I think we all should do this cleanse at least once a year. I need to take my own advice!

I disagree with doing cleanses. Instead I add garlic to my juices daily... allow my body to eat healthy food and remember... the circle of life is just that. We need things we may not know we need...

So I tend to step away from the bottles of 'cleanse this and cleanse that' and just let my foods do what needs doing.

DITTO the above. I started RAW and was having some constipation issues (I know TMI). I went to MaxWellness looking for a 'cure in a bottle' and ended up buying a book called the Constipation Cure (I think that's right...). It has easy to follow instructions for using common OTC laxatives and fiber to get your colon working properly after years of becoming sluggish from what we put in it!

Following RAW and the book was awsome. You could see things coming thru that you don't usually see (nuf said!) and everything is in great working order now.

I was to a new Chiropractor up north and she uses Applied Kenesiology. This is my second experience with it and I'm a believer. SHe "assumed" I would have parasites and was surprised when I didn't test for them! Yippee. RAW has fixed that too. Amazing how many things will work out if you just allow your body to fix it! I don't do anything specific, but I do tend to use garlic as above, so that may be part of it. I also crave onions at other times so use them instead. Maybe it's just a 'me' thing.

Thanks for the input so far. :) I find it very helpful!!

I've found a lot of useful natural ways that is very helpful to address this issue.

Garlic is one of the #1 spices/herbs! Suggest use is to have it everyday which is good for inner and outter (skin) parasite untill cleared up.

Papaya juice and equal amount of honey for about two days or more.

Pumpkin seeds used by the Native American for this.

I've further did some more research about Bentonite Clay and Psyllium Husk which is good for this as well!!

Digestive enzymes and probiotic when doing a cleanse.

Found a generous list of food grade therapeutic essential oils. I have a few oils on hand by Young Living. Just make sure it's edible before adding drops to water to drink.

And a generous list of herbs as well. I'm a big supporter of and love herbs!

So one article suggest.... Eliminate, purify blood, and colon cleansing.

Any other input is muchly appreciated.

1-2 TBS of ACV (apple cider vinegar) in a glass of water daily is another one.

I'v been thinking that it may have been the cause of what happened to me two years ago for three possible reasons.

I've worked with the public daily doing people's hair at a beauty school two years ago and what happened to me made me not want to work on hair anymore due to thinking that it may have something to do with my emergency to the hospital.

I'm thinking that I may have come in contact with someone who had something while I was doing their hair. Working with hair made me really realized that a lot of people really doesn't have good hygiene up close....

Anyways, I dismissed this swelling I had at the time, because I thought or convinced myself that it was from these tight headbands that I've been wearing. There was a short strip like swelling behind my left ear. And now, that I'm taking para-shield and there is a little swelling recurring again behind my left ear, but then I just wore a very snug headband yesterday!

I am concerned and will be setting up an appointment with a dermatologist to analyze my skin.

I think they are zits that I have and it's just a few, some on my lower back and my tummy. The problem is that they are not going away. They are just like permanent small zits in the exact same spot like a mole or something! I would really like for my skin to clear up in those areas! I did not have this problem till after my trip to the hospital. When I tried using some olive oil bar soap, I broke out in a really weird bumpy rash on my collarbone. From there that is when I developed these permanent tiny zits. I'm thinking that's where it came from. I've use anti-bacterial soap since my teens and thought I do all natural since I was eating more all natural and such!

Plus, I have never drank from tap for the longest time and and always buy filtered water. Well, I didn't have any and was really desperate for coffee one morning so I use the tap water.

And then around at the same time, someone was promoting, "Mona Vie". I was fine till I started drinking shots of Mona Vie. I noticed that the first day I was really thirsty. So I did drink some water and stuff. Then the second and third day after drinking Mona Vie, my thirst got really extreme! That's when I quit drinking Mona Vie. I was freaked out by it and thought I did some damage!!

Well, after that the thirst just kept getting worse and worse!! All the fluid was just flushing out of me like crazy for two week and lost about twenty pounds. I drank everything in the fridge and my body wouldn't take any of it. That is when my body started rejecting food and that is when I had to take a day off from school. My stomach was in serious pain too. That is when my body couldn't hold down any liquid or food. I was sucking on ice cubes to keep my tongue from drying out. Plus I felt like I was going to black out off and on. Then in the middle of the night, I was vomiting and couldn't breath at all. My body was really trying to take in oxygen. So that is when I called someone to take me to the hospital!

But because I'm getting back into the industry to be working on hair again. I do not want this to happen again at all!! So....three things that possibly might have triggered it besides eating SAD.....tap water, Mona Vie, or someone who had something while I was working on his/her hair.

Hairstylists have to be careful and really sanitize everything because there are people who have scalp diseases/bugs/open sores and such. Hairstylist have to examine the scalp and hair first thing when clients sits in the chair!! It really makes me want to wear gloves like everyone else who works in direct contact with the public. And really have to keep our hands and nails clean too and make sure there if no small cuts on hands when working on someone.

I haven't really talked about this and the ones that are close to me knows the whole story.

I'm willing to admit that I may have it if I do! And that is why I'm seeking solutions here. I'm not just posting this thread for no reason. I want this solved so I can prevent any future problems later on down the road.

Dr. Oz did say on Oprah that 90% of the American population is infected with some type of a parasite.

I never really took parasites in consideration this whole time that it may have contributed to the causes of what happened to me two years ago untill lately (past couple months) the concept just kept showing up like some kind of a sign.

So I'm here posting this thread seeking anyone who is open-minded to talk about the subject and share what has worked for them.

Thank you for reading this and hopefully there is someone on here I can talk to about their successful experiences. Or shed some light on my experience so that I can be prepared in the future as a hairstylist and take extra preventive measures.

Thanks again for any opinions, answers, insights, enlightenment, and solutions.

i'd be more concerned about the coffee, the "drinking anything in the fridge" which sounds like a lot of sugary and/or processed stuff...

why not try 100% raw for 30 days and see if that doesn't make a huge difference instead of trying to find an answer in a quick-n-ready pill form?

The coffee thing was two years ago before my emergency trip to the hospital.

After I got out of the hospital, right away I discovered raw food the first year which I've transit to high raw 95% and would have been 100% if I had been a vegetarian, Became a vegetarian about a year ago so I've been 100% for about a year now. It's been two years now that I've been eating raw food! And I've been feeling great and still do.

It's just that I don't want this to happen again when I go back to start working as a hairstylist again. I've done research that it can spread even just from shaking people's hands.

I'm mainly talking about what happened two years ago.

Yo Aleesha, I've shared my story with you and others in my post in the Before and After thread called Whoa Raw's Healing Story.

Plus Aleesha, you wanted to talk about parasites several months ago too, Remember?

Anyways, I'm thinking it might have been the coffee thing too since I used the tap water. But then again it may have been a combination of several factors as well.....

Drinking everything in the fridge only happened because I was extremely dehydrated BIG TIME!! And the dehydration only happened after I was trying Mona Vie!! (and that was two years ago).

The doctors at the hospital at the time said that my immune system went into an overdrive and started attacking my body on the inside.

Para-Shield is an herb formula and the most natural in can be. It's by Gaia and I have a book about their company.

A theory I have right now....what if I somehow got some kind of parasite before my emergency trip two years ago, reverse my health problems for the past two years with raw food, but I still have the parasite that I need to get rid of, how to get rid of it naturally if I do have it, and pinpoint safety measures so that it doesn't happen again!

I've also research that a lot of tests for parasites by doctors goes undetected.

Is it possible to have parasites on a raw food diet? I don't know!! And was hoping someone can answer that.

And I do think it's a good idea to a parasite cleanse once or twice a year. Just want to know a natural safe way to do it,

Here's the order of my story....
Two years ago > learning to be a hair stylist > developed a small swelling behind my left ear > used tap water out of desperation to make coffee > checked out Mona Vie for two-three days > extreme dehydration afterward > went to the emergency room > reverse diabetes with raw food food for the past two years > now two years later, looking for a job as a hairstylist > now wondering if it's possible to have parasites on a 100% raw food diet? > Looking for natural safe solutions if that it's possible.

sorry, i read it as that's what you were experiencing now.

it's your body and your choice whoa... you have heaps of great info here and in your own body... so what do you want to do? cause i kinda feel like you are asking permission for something??? perhaps i'm reading that wrong as well. (which is cool... i'm happy to be wrong... ) (((hugs)))

It's okay.
This subject is not very easy at all for me to talk about.
I just want to find the best natural way to do this to save myself some time and effort. I don't know if I have any parasites or not.
I'm concerned, because I will be working in direct contact with the public again as a hairstylist on a daily basic after two years of getting well on raw food. I don't want to get parasites from working on people on a daily basic is what I'm concerned about if that is the case.
And just like how I found out about raw food, it had save me so much time/effort to be well again.
I just want to save some time/effort and be smart about how I need to eliminate these parasites from me if I have any and feeling confident that I know how to prevent them in the future.

I've already been taking Para-Shield by Gaia for the past three days now which is in a form of Liquid Phyto-Caps and the combination of this is Black Walnut Fresh Green Hull, Sweet Wormwood Herb, Clove Bud Oil, Pomegranates seeds, Gentian Root, Coptis Rhizome, Ginger root (with vegetable glycerin and vegetable cellulose for coating of capsules) The herbs is certified organic and vegetarian with no gluten ingredients.

okay so you said three times in your post that you want to save time and effort. and you said repeatedly in this thread how concerned you are about reentering your profession.

so i think you have your answer. do what's quick and easy and on a reg basis so you aren't worried about it anymore. cause worry is such a waste of energy. (((rubs whoa's back))) such a waste of time and energy. ;)

Thanks Aleesha. You're right, worry is a waste of time and energy. ;) Take a deep breath in and out, relax!!!

As far as re-entering my profession, I just want to be smart, because the beauty school teacher I had really hyped up parasites in class. So I just need to get over it and move on!

I'm collecting info how I can do this the raw way so that I don't have to worry just in case. There are a lot of raw ways to be parasite free. So I feel much better now.

One info that did help was this line that said, "Flies don't create garbage, flies are drawn to garbage though." And it was just making a point of the fact that a healthy colon is free of parasites while unhealthy colon attracts them.

That is my answer also too. Keep the colon clean and healthy!! :)

Thanks for hearing me out on this!!! Wheeew!

I really do believe that a Raw Food Diet really gets the colon back on track for good health!

Interesting thread. I have done so many parasite cleanses over the years and it seemed they would always come back. Now that I'm high raw I haven't done one for about a year and am thinking I probably should. I was very sick and VERY infested and I think the only way back from that (for me) is to cleanse, fast, healing with high raw, and occasionally knocking out whatever might be in there. I've been high raw for about a year and a half now and had countless benefits and healing during that time. But we have to consider how sickly the person was to begin with too. I was at death's door, I don't know if my diet will heal that in such a short time considering I was ill for 25+ years prior.

It's scary, because I often get strange and nasty healing crisis effects from doing these cleanses (everything from random crying fits to extreme irritability to fatigue) and I don't know if that will happen again on my next cleanse. I haven't done one of these since before I got into juice fasting so I'm interested to see what it will be like now after all the healing I've done to my gut and body. I wish I could believe all the garlic I eat would be enough, but I ate garlic and spicy foods and what not for years and years and still ended up with parasites infesting me. For some of us I think it takes a lot more than that.

Parasites are pretty prevalent; killing them off is only part of the equation, the much more important thing is to not have an internal environment where they can thrive. And yeah, they're tough little buggers too. :D

The good news is that, if you are extremely healthy and have a very "clean" body, you'll never really need to worry about parasites at all - just don't drink raw sewage. :D
