View Full Version : A month and 8 Days

Thought I'd share my progress so far, have lost 24.6 lbs.
But more then that I feel freakinFantastic :)
I was very sick for the past 7yrs untill this year when a divine hand lead me to raw,and its only gonna get better from here....
I feel awake again,I thought after I had turned 30 that this is how it was sopose to be,that the good days had passed, and my body was just gonna fall apart on me with each passing year.
What I feel now is happily grateful, even for the seven dark years, because of them I appreciate this time even more.
Anyhow the first pic is of me 12/21/2009
Second was taken this morning
I cant wait to see what I look and feel like in 6 months

Just wanted to share some more pics........
As of now Ive lost 54.1 pounds
Its amazing the places on my body that make me the happiest for releasing the weight.
First is my wrists-I cant belive how swollen they were
I have knee caps lol Woohoo..who knew
The back of my legs are smoothing out,its so amazing,Ive lost weight before but nothing like this.
Sides of my torso, and my belly has shrunk significantly
I am now being asked what Im doing and if I will give them information on raw,its awesome, and I do want to help many others,I am seriously considering going to school as a nutritionist, and then seeking somthing along the holistic route.Of course as I am still learning it would be a great benifit to me for my health to boot.
When Ive lost half my size I will post a body shot.Ive been taking pics once a month along with mesurements.
Anyhow,I got an ID card in June of this year
and then a couple weeks ago I got my licence, when I saw the two pics together I was shocked at just how much Ive changed in such a short time. Im so happy and Thankful .........
12-22-2010, 10:11 PM

01-21-2011, 04:59 PM
I said I was going to wait untill,I lost half my body size.Well i haven't lost half but Ive lost a great deal.I'm going to post these on my blog in the next few days and I thought I'd post them here first, since finding RFT was instrumental when I started.Want to give others hope, that its the real deal and it can be done.Look at how much progress Ive made in such a short time,it's beyond amazing. :)
I know I will have not so great days,I will eat a few unraw things from time time at some point, but I will never eat the way I use to.Hard to go back to something when your eyes have been open.So posting my body shots is a way of saying theres no going back,Bye Bye Old me!!
First Pic was taken december 12,2009 The month I first heard the term RAW
Second Picture was taken today-6 months in.When I started I couldnt put the mesureing tape around my hips ,now the ends touch!!!!

Haven't posted much in blog or here in like a month almost.I will try to keep this clean lol
Me and the Mr. have really been enjoying one another more then ever.Raw has helped in so many areas. Anyhow, went to beach about 3 or so weeks ago to visit a friend, ended up in ER with abdomen pains.
Turns out I was pregnant after ultra sounds they saw a tiny mass in my ovary, he was sure that it was a miscarriage, but had to be safe. The beach is a 2 half hour drive,so once a week,we've drove down there to do bloodwork.Had gained weight and my cravings for meat and anything else that wasn't raw was at a all time high.
Thankfully I did not subcom to the temptations.Though there is a health food place at the beach, had a couple pieces of fresh non dairy non gluten bread was very good. Also a few dishes of steamed organic rice an beans.
Other then that Ive been all raw yay!! I had a Miscarriage a long time ago in ealy 20's.We never even considered it being an issue again, never had it checked but I know my hormones are all outta wack.Even though this was sad(to lose another baby)/Happy I can get pregnant/RelievedIt was not an ectopic.
I feel like Im on the right track for my body,at present moment,my skin looks horrible I have rashes an bumps all over my body including neck an face.I have been bleedin for about 4 weeks straight plus the pains of the mis.I know this sounds bad and trust me it is uncomfortable , also fun to have to explain to ppl that Im a freak and its not catching lol
I feel though maybe my body is going through a major cleaning yet,and it still has a lot to do.That makes me happy means Im still going in right direction.
Far as getting prego again,me and the Mr agree its up to God.we are not trying nor putting any foreign stuff in my body to stop human nature. If it is ment to be,so be it,life is a gift.
I am now at a 80lb weight loss,is just awesome lost 4.8 this week.

Happy for you and sad for your loss. I also have a lot of weight to lose. I popped in here awhile ago and was eating vegetarian for awhile. The weight is not coming off and I was thinking back to years past when I felt my best and I realized there was a time I was dieting and intended it to be low carb (which it was really mostly raw and low starch intead} that I felt my best. I did some experimenting with my diet and realized that during that time it was the raw food that gave me that surge of engery and not the fact that it was low carb. I was eating two large green salads a day with broc. cucs, celery, olives etc. with a little lean meat and then I would have melons and berries and other fruits for snacks. I no longer eat meat and I am starting the raw veggies and fruits. I still have a small amount of cooked vegan foods at this time but it is minimal and not very often.
I am hope to be right with you with the weight loss. I am looking forward to following you also. I need to get healthy. I am feeling the wear and tear on my body from lugging around all this weight. I am at 305 now at 5'7" tall. I have a good amount of muscle from being active at work but I need to get to 150.
thank you for sharing your experiences!!!:throwhearts:

Welome back Strawberry,
You are def. on the right track. The way you begin to feel health wise and the metamorphasis of the body is worth eating raw again an again (besides once you get the hang of it,it taste REALLY good) Seriously!! Sometimes Im like why diddnt I know this ten years ago?!!
lThe most important thing I would suggest would be to start your mornings with lemon an water, and 30 to 45min later follow with a green smoothie.Just my opinion but I feel that gives you a gentle detox while nurishing the body. You can do raw,its not fool proof( everyone has to figure out what works for them),but it will keep shockin the heck out of you each week as you feel better an better an the weight drops. So glad your going on this journey.
How about joing the 30 day challenge.Im thinking hard about doing it again. Everyone needs a goal and I need a refresher,Im probbly 90% raw right now.Eating too many raw/vegan things out of jars an packages.Need to go back to a more pure eating.Im still loseing, but it has slowed. Also not feeling myself lately and I know That 10% will make a big diffrence.
Good Luck and Hope to see your before an afters SOON!!!

So I havent posted any updates in a long time.
Have been struggling with a few issues lately. After doin a ten day juice fast I was slapped with the most intese cravings Ive had in all of the 10months Raw.Ending of the fast coincided with my menstrual cycle and it has been insane.I havnt ate any (meat/Dairy/refined foods and dont plan on it) ,but rice & beans seems to be the only thing to qwench the crave monsters.
also I have been having more frequent attacks of an unbarable stabbing pain in center of back follwed by the urge to use bathroom but I cannot, and it goes on for 6to8hours my bp shoots up high an I lay in such discomfort waiting for it to pass.I dont know if its a constipation issue or what but Im looking into a calonic perhaps.
I want to do a juice fast again soon, but not until this problem is controlled!! Anyhow off to the before an afters,I am at a 115lb:woot: weight loss woohoo. My underarms looked so bad for many months an then one day it healed and looks better then I can remeber(amazing isnt the word)!!We bought a Wii and im loving the workout vids they have.A year ago I couldnt have dreamed of the stamina I have now.Got on a customers treadmil an ran a few minutes(talk about feeling alive) me running?!! :woot:
Ill take the good with the bad,may take a wile, weight loss has slowed an mental calirity is kinda off but I just have to get focused an bust through stage 2's wall.
Second picture is of my last year March 2,2010___my head was so swollen__

your back pain sounds a lot like it might be a kidney stone. I had a kidney stone last year and ended up in the ER. It's a very severe, but hard to identify pain.. I thought at first it was back pain, or that I might have a urinary tract infection. But nope, it was a kidney stone. Your doc can diagnose it and give you the appropriate meds if needed. Congrats on all the weight loss! I'm at 100 lbs myself.. feels so good, doesn't it? :-)
08-03-2011, 06:01 AM
You look great! I'm going to try your sauce recipe for the kelp noodles that you have on your blog soon - sounds yummy.

Thanks for the encouragement. We Are on the same road. I am at 309 right now. I have started to get serious and the last two days I have felt better. :excited:

I have Def. hit a wall but I lost 2lbs this week and am starting to see things in a different light. With raw the weight fell off pretty effortlessly (eat raw) good things happen,an so far that has worked.Im big on finding out what works for me,and lately a warm bowl of rice or veggies has been seeming to help me.So I'm trying to find a 80% raw 20% warmed Veggies n rice combo that works for me,for now and when I've passed this phase go back closer to 100%.Maybe its summer? ,most ppl say its super hard for them in winter, well winter is when I'm MOST alive an summer is when I hibernate.Have strong feeling that could have something to do with it.
Also having some issues with body image ( I'm kinda holding myself back) If anyone is or has been obese an lost alot of weight I'm sure you can relate.I didn't think I would have this problem but it is what it is.I don't think I can physically do alot of things, and the fact is I CAN,being sick for so many years I developed the mindset that, some things I just couldn't do.This just came to light for me this past week, and I realized how weak and out of shape I was even though Im able to do some things I haven't done in years. Its not nearly to the capacity that I'm capable of. Raw has been easy for me cept for the few issues I'm having but I see a def breakthrough in time, working out on a regular basis? WHEW this is gonna be the big one lol.but this is the second step along with raw,I have to change up to get results.
@speltrong-Awesome about your weightloss.Yess it feels amazing, like a second chance at life :)
Thanks for the tips on kidney stones ,sorry to hear about your troubles and glad you got through everything okay.
I researched some and it didn't really seem to be what was bothering me.I went to local health store an asked a few questions.Woman there said she thought I was low on enzymes an probiotics in the stomach area. She ordered me a bottle for digestive track health for vegans.(they were sold out)but she gave me a travelpack with like 15 pills you take one pill with a meal, maybe twice a day.I swear when I see her again big hugs.I have not had the problem since and I'm not one to take something an actually feel much of a difference(supplemental anyhow). This is amazing I take one or two a day an have not had an episode yet.
@Chaos here-Thanks,enjoy the sauce :)
@StrawberryPassion-Glad to hear you are feeling better an Happy for you new commitment-hope you are still plowing through the fruits an veggies
10-15-2011, 10:14 PM
Congratulations! You look awesome!
I checked out your blog and its neat how you grow your own food! Wish I had time for that!
10-16-2011, 01:40 AM
keep going, looking good...I know it is a cliche these days but a daily green smoothie is a good way to get your greens and easily replaces a meal. Best part is the prep and wash up time. 5min tops.
