I'veve been 100% raw for exactly 1 month. I've been raw for more than two months. Yesterday, I ate cooked food. I wanted to see what would happen. I didn't think it was that big a deal to do it. I will live a long life and one meal was like nothing compared to years or decades. And I'm only fifteen so I don't have like thirty years of damage to my system. So I wanted to try it to see what would happen, if I would feel bad or not feel it at all. And I do t look at it as "falling off", more like I took a detour. I had some whole grain pasta with tomato sauce and a laughing cow cheese, so it's not like I jumped off a bridge. Other than me loving pasta, and that being the best cheese I ever tasted in my life, it's not worth it(I also sipped a little dr. Pepper and spit it out because it was so disgusting, I can't believe I used to dring 5-6 cans a day). I felt really full, bloated up, and fell asleep right after. I still feel it this morning. I want to start the morning feeling energized, not wrung out. So I have no wish to eat this food. It's just not worth it.

It's amazing what our bodies get use to. To me, it's llke addictions. I think on raw, some do not realize that we can slightly warm it. For me, the SAD food was the warmth.
I'm addicted to watermelon juice w/miint or cilantro and throw a little spinach in there!

You know, I'm SO curious at some stage to do this!

I've been 100% raw for two years and would really love to know how cooked food will affect me. I don't really want the food, I no longer crave it, but I'm just so curious about the effect it would have on my body, to experience that first hand.

I think I've forgotten just how bodily tired I used to get, how 'drugged' I felt in the morning and how lacking in energy and sleepy I was after a meal.

Your story is similar to most of the stories I read on RFT about people doing this. They figure they haven't been raw for that long so it shouldn't affect them, and they eat a meal and regret it for days afterwards. The common theme is the surprise and sometimes shock they feel at how utterly crappy they feel.

I've always figured I had a gut of iron, I wonder if I'd be as bad....

I just think that it's fantastic that you are only 15 and doing this. :)

Its funny, cooked foods can actually alter your state of mind. I may do one every once in awhile as a drug.

I think that it is best not to do it. I have read that your digestive builds up a protective layer to protect it from the cooked food and will only let that go if you have not had any cooked food for some time.
Once it has let it go your digestive system will be able to absorb nutrients better and more efficiently.
If you occasionally eat a cooked meal you will never get to that stage.

I too think it's great that you're doing this at 15! That's incredible!

But, I'm with Sport on this one....learn from your "detour" and you'll be miles ahead of many who are two it three times your age. :). If you want confirmation if what cooked food can do, visit the Blog section and see how different people struggle with staying Raw. It's eye opening enough for me...

I'm so glad you woke up with clarity and know you wanna stay Raw!!! Remember that! It'll KEEP you RAw! :)

and most people... once they have some cooked food once... find themselves having it more and more and then we all see a post saying, "Hi I was a raw foodist and then I started eating cooked food again. I have 60 pounds to release so I'm back".

I wouldn't advise doing it. I'm having trouble getting back on /:

Yeah exactly!!! Was it that good? No and no and no it wasn't! It makes my mind/body feel hungover for the next two days. Plus, I can taste the flavor of the SAD food for the first five bites, then it starts tasting like cardboard or dust after that. It's not an over exaggeration, that is what it taste like!
