hey all,
just moved to santa marinella outside rome to study (in rome) for the next 8 months. would be grateful for any tips on where to get organic fruit, veg and greens, especially direct from a farm or whatever. i mainly only see non-organic stuff at the shops... i have a car. also where to source things like non-pasteurized almonds, decent organic dates, tahini, etc. would also be interested in meetups or potlucks if theres anything like that going on in the area. thanks! kaybee

You may be able to weed through this info to find what you need.

cool. thanks. the wantedinrome article lists farms with phone numbers, which is sort of what i was looking for. im at a bit of a disadvantage to easily find what i need here since i dont speak italian.... but since i have the car, maybe will check out the farms next week and some of the other places when im in rome next week (only go into the city when i have to)

one of those has a mention of the organic market on vicolo della moretta, which i remember someone referring me to when i lived in rome before but i didnt know if it was still running. looks like the reference is from 2009 so we will try this sunday since its supposed to be on 2nd and 4th sundays. cool

Good luck and happy living in Rome. I lived there about 8 years ago and it was quite the adventure. The architecture and the atmosphere. there is like no other place in the world.
