Hello all. I have a question! I guess I've been going to alternative medicine for so long, I don't know what to do...I'm thinking about getting my body checked out. I've read other posts where people do this and I think it's good idea. I guess I need my blood work? My iron and calcium levels checked? How do I go about this? Do I just call up my doctor (I have blessed health insurance through work) and ask them for a "check-up"? Or do I need to specifically tell them what needs checked. I'm afraid if I tell them about my diet I'll get a lecture or something. TIA for your answers!

I go to the redcross to donate blood. They check your iron and hemoglobin before you donate. INterestingly, when I eat SAD, I am always too low to donate blood despite taking iron pills two weeks in advance. When I am raw, doing green smoothies and juices, my hemoglobin is well in the acceptable range.

You can request a physical exam with blood work.

Interestingly, my GP praised me for losing 20 lbs last year when on raw. She was excited to see me eating veggies and fruit and said, "Whatever works" but I am terribly overweight.

All you have to do is say you haven't gotten tested in awhile & they'll immediately want you to do it. You don't even need to mention your diet. You can say you want extensive blood work to cover everything.

How I wish I could undergo with all those tests too. I only had CBC and Hsbg because its a requirement at work. Other tests would cost me quite large amount of money.

Can I go to your place and get them for free? LOL:p
