Pineapple in Blendtec

What part of the pineapple can I blend for smoothies? I planned to throw away the leafy/spiny top and just blend up the rest, including the outer skin. Will that work ok or should I peel and core it prior to blending?

Do not use the skin. It is not edible and I do not think that it has any nutrients.
You can use the core.
