Hi! I'm new here and glad to have found this site! My first question is about my juicer. We got a Breville a few years ago and it seems to only have one speed. I am very disappointed that it seems to make very little juice. I feel like I'm just throwing food away. Is there a trick that I'm missing? It seems like the food takes a short spin and then just spins out and still has plenty of water in it.

Please help! If I can't figure this out, I'm inclined to give up the whole juicing thing.

You need to find some way to constrict the hole the paste emerges from. Most juicers have a screw or nut in there somehow, and you can tighten it to make sure the pulp is squeezed thoroughly. You can do the same thing with your hand! Just watch out for blades.

I put the pulp through a few times until it gives no more juice.

Put your pulp into a nut mylk bag and simply mylk the bag... and collect the juice.

By the way, you don't need to throw the pulp away. you can use veggie pulp in flax crackers or a taco nut meat. You can use fruit pulp in cakes and stuff. So like, I do an apple cake with my apple pulp. It is so good.

Also, mulch, if you decide to do your own organic gardening! I am growing an avacado tree + herbs out back...and wheatgrass! Can't wait till my apricot sprouts, I am going to do a bonsai with that!

I gave up on my Breville because it spits out chunks of veggies, etc. and it's just too wasteful in my opinion. So, I just started using my blender & a little water, then squeezing it all through a nut milk bag...no waste, delicious juice, & quick. My favorite is celery, green apple, lemon. :)
