Hi all!

First - great site (Love the activity and enthusiasm!!)

I've looked at a lot of the info in the threads here and I've seen a lot about the cost of juicers. From roughly $150 to $600 seems the range, not including the jump to $2,500 for the Norwalk. (Note: I don't have a juicer yet and I'm leaning toward a Green Star.)

@ the fanatics out there: What's your daily produce burn?
I'm hopping my juicer will last at least 5yrs, so it seems to me the "REAL" cost will be the produce. My bride and I will be juicing for health so organic seems the obvious route to take. Where I live, the average cost of organic produce runs about $2.50/lb (at the farmer's markets) and $4.00+/lb (at the supermarkets). I'm just guessing, but I figure that if we're juicing, souping, and generally rawing it daily, it seems likely that we could run 1lb of produce through the juicer every day. Given this, juice yield is very important!! I'd LOVE to hear the community's experience here! Am I under or over estimating? If "Juicer A" yields half the juice of "Juicer B," then "A" will cost A LOT more VERY quickly!! (It's +/- $75/mo if 1lb goes to 2lb due to lower yield - $4,500 over 5yrs - with no inflation!)

Looking for a little help with a Green Star model choice:
It seems like all of you here with the Green Star brand like it. (Biggest downside: clean-up?) I'm attracted to the technology is uses but I just don't really see any material differences in the models they make - seems like it comes down to a few accessories that might be handy. At http://www.greenstar.com/differences.asp it seems either the GP-E1503 or the GS-3000 are the choice but they really seem the same! Then there is the newer Green Star Elite (http://www.tribest.com/index.asp) which looks a good deal nicer, has longer blades, easier clean up, etc. Has anyone used different models of the Green Star? Can anyone talk into the pros/cons of the different models? (Yeah, I imagine we'll go Elite - just cuz that's what we do in America... :o)

Anyone can feel more than free to talk me out of the Green Star! My only real priorities are:
1) the most nutritious juice
2) the best yield
3) versatility - ie: pasta making potential seems cool...

Thanks!
Chris
