Just got home with my new baby and even though I haven't used her yet...I'm in love! My Vita Mix and Excalibur are already showing signs of envy. :p I'm about to head out and buy some veggies to juice tonight! It's going to be a juice party here tonight baby!!!! wooooooooooooooo!! JUICE FEAST TIME!!
Here she is (ignore the junk on my counter, I just pushed stuff over so I could set her up and take a pic! hahaha)

Now...to think of a name. For those who don't know or remember, I name everything. :p Veeta the VitaMix, Debo the Dehydrator. Lame..I know. :p:p Any suggestions? I'll be thinking it over while I peruse the lovely greens and veggies at the market as I prepare for tonight's juicing adventures!
I turned it on because I just couldn't help myself...she purred like a kitten. ;)
Congratulations!!! She's a beauty!
I don't have name suggestions, but one of my best friends names everything too, including the big landscaping rocks in her yard! *Ü*

Greta the Greenstar! :)
I only use my wooden plunger and remember... when you push stuff down it won't eat the plunger so you can push it down all the way! It's a bit daunting at first.
So... whatchamake?

Congrats.
One piece of advice.
Do not boil the parts to get them clean.
I did this and some of them twisted and had to be replaced.
Silly me.

Heeeeeeeeeeey everyone! I LIKE Greta. I just asked my daughter what she thought and it's official...her name IS Greta!!! :D Thanks Aleesha and Cathy, it really suits her.
Aleesha, at your suggestion watermelon was the first thing we juiced. :) That went over really well with my daughter, as I suspected. Her eyes lit up and she exclaimed, "This is GOOD!" hahaha Then I made *drum roll please* Cantaloupe juice! Now THAT was some yummy to my tummy action there!! Oh yea!!! :D Below you'll see a pic of our first juice adventures....as you can see someone couldn't wait long enough for me to take the picture (and it was her second glass) lol
I love my dear Greta! It was UBER easy to make the juice each time, my daughter especially enjoyed the process. We used the wooden tamper and you're right Aleesha, it was a little daunting at first when the wood hits the gears but I didn't freak out too badly. The clean up wasn't bad at all, it was pretty quick to do...but then again I don't have anything to compare it to so I can't complain.
At the market I picked up the following: parsley, kale, cucumber, carrot, lemon, apple, watermelon and cantaloupe. I forgot my celery so I need to run back out. I'm driving to Asheville tomorrow so I'm going to make some juice for the ride!

Thanks for the tip! I will definitely remember not to boil any of the parts!!!

Congrats on your new 'baby' - Greta the greenstar. Catchy name. You'll be juicing up a storm! I have a few different juicers, but always come back to the greenstar.
My latest fav juice is a couple handfuls of spinach, one apple, one or two dino kale leaf, a handful of green grapes and 3-4 ribs of celery. Yum.

I was so uber tired after driving back from Asheville that I didn't prepare my juice for today so I'll have to begin my juice feast on tomorrow. I'm DEFINITELY starting tomorrow! No ifs, ands or buts about it! I can't wait!! :D
As an aside, I was super stoked to eat at The Laughing Seed Cafe and when I got there it was closed for roof repairs. :( I was soooo sad and disappointed. I got in later Sunday than expected and couldn't go and on Monday I walked over there to find the disappointing news. They won't open back up until Thursday, I believe the sign said. *sigh* That was going to be the highlight of my conference. I ended up going to Rosetta's Kitchen, which while good wasn't raw except for the salads.

 Wooooooooooooooo!! Oh.My.Goodness!!!! Yowsers!!! I just juiced some GOOOOD stuff y'all! My taste buds are doing a jig right now like you wouldn't believe! It's like they've been given pure electricity! I drank so much now I don't have enough to last me through tomorrow! :p :(
Ok, here's what I juiced: parsley, lemon, kale, carrots and cucumber. MAN, this is FANTASTIC!!! I juiced everything, poured it into a jar and thought, hmm...I'm forgetting something. The cucumber! So I juiced it, then tasted it before mixing it with the rest and WOWSA! It was DE-LISH! I could drink that alone! But, after taking a heaping sip (hehehe) I added it to the rest of the mix. Oh man, this juice feast is going to be some pure awesomeness! I'm so geeked up right now I don't know if I can sleep! :p I want to go shopping and get more greens and veggies to juice (ETA: it's 11:14pm here right now lol)...I think I'm an instant juice addict! Is there a 12 step program for this? hahaha
