Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Wow, hit by some serious detox. I feel awful, but I am working at home, so I can lay low. I slept in late, and when I awoke, sore throat and fatigue.

But I am sucking on a green smoothie and will ride this out!

Still having some healing crisis (think it's allergies and my body being REALLY ready to release some toxins) but yay - that means that much more healthy.
Also, am noticing my weight is starting to melt off. (I was raw a few days before the challenge so it's from that and this - such a motivator though!)

Apples, almonds so far
bananas and carrots later

Still Good. Funny thing is that I am finding that I am not as hungry as I used to be. I am still eating one full meal, juicing and snacking on fresh fruit and raw snacks but not nearly as much as I did eating cooked.

Today,
Pate stuffed Portobello
Salad with Raw Dressing
Fresh Veggie & Fruit Juice
Various Raw Snacks
Lots of water.

I have been having headaches for the last 2 days, but isn't it too soon for detoxing?

I think it depends on our individual processes. This doesn't feel like a cold or the flu, but something else and makes sense to me that mine is detox.

Sorry for this newbie question, What is the meaning of SW, CW and GW ?
It's look like related to weight, is it ?
I'am already in 3 day for raw food.
I'am also having headaches and dizzy today, is it normal?

breakfast : banana+lemon juice
lunch : melon, oat, apple, and some green
dinner : lettuce, carrot, apple and sprout of green beans and lemon juice

This is good, I'm feeling really excited about preparing raw food and experimenting with it all!! I've noticed I'm so tired- maybe detox or overeating maybe?
I feel I'm eating too much, but not sure how to determine this.

Breakfast
Green smoothie- spinach, bok choy, cucumber, water, berries, kiwi fruit, apple, orange
Snack
100g mixed nuts & seeds

Lunch
smoothie- coacoa beans, banana, rice milk, water, coconut oil
Snack
100g dried fruit

Dinner
Green smoothie- spinach, brocolli, orange, pear, spirulina, kelp, water, grapefruit, flaxseed oil
Snack
MORE NUTS&DRIED FRUIT, is this the closest thing to cooked food? Should I not allow myself any for a few days?

I believe it is SAD weight (weight when on a Standard American Diet), Current weight (after RAW! Yea!) and Goal weight. :)

Hi Libusha,

You are just fine don't worry! It is normal to feel not quite yourself as you transition, so be sure to give your body time to rest and relax. Be quiet with yourself and take it easy. It will pass and then boundless energy will come to you! :)

If you feel reallllllllly fulllll then maybe you ate too much. But that will pass through your system much faster than before, so the feeling won't last long. Last night I was soooo full from 4 pieces of apple pie but then about 2 hours later I had a huge BM (sorry, too much info?) and then felt light again. Not hungry though!

You do not need to stay away from nuts and dried fruit. However, what will be interesting to do as you start the raw diet is try to pay more attention to what your body (not your mind) craves. For example, in Alissa's book she talks about how if she eats alot of fruit, maybe then she'll crave nuts or avocado, after which she'll crave greens etc. (Of course you can also crave a combo of things!) But if you listen to your body then you will be sure to eat a balanced diet.

Though again, you are doing just fine! Your mind will panic and try to stress you out with worries as you make the transition. My goodness, the first time I went raw I was convinced that I would pass out and die. I really did think that would happen and I was scared to push through it. But I did. :)

So sorry this is so long but I thought your questions were similar to ones I had, so I hoped I could help. Have a super day!

Take care

Thank you so much- I really appreciate that. I thought alot about what you said today and realised that I am afraid of knowing myself- does that make sense?
There is so much to learn on this journey- thank you for your help, very much appreciate it!
