Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

I work overnight so even though I am eating raw the rest of the day I will say 12 midnight 10/4 is my starting point. Jumped in a bit late but I do not want to wait until next month to do the challange.

I am packing food for work. So far I have apple and raspberry fruit salad with a sprinkling of walnuts. Key to my success is going to be planning ahead. For breakfast tomorrow I should use the bananas that need to be eaten since they are nice and ripe. I will make a smoothie. :)

HEY!

Peace to all :D

Its been so great since i started this! I feel amazing and my body already feels like its saying "THANK YOU!!" to me for realizing how i was hurting it.

Im a type 1 diabetic, and i am now experimenting how taking 1/3 less insulin than what i normally take will affect me, so far its amazing, i had to even eat some bananas to raise my sugar level because it was going low - and thats with a 1/3 less insulin!! Previously my blood sugars were always high and my body felt congested and headachy.. its like a breath of fresh air now.

I hope everyone else is doing fantastic, whats everyone been eating today? :)

I had:

BREAKFAST
Apple

LUNCH
Salad with cucumbers, baby spinach, carrots, spring onion and mung bean sprouts with a lemon, olive oil and mustard dressing - IT TASTED SOOOOOO GOOD !!

What i will have for DINNER
Avocado mash and sliced tomatoes with olive oil and salt
Yum yum yummm

Ive been snacking inbetween on things like Go Raw's granola and cacao cereal bits, goji berries, seeds and nuts.

I really believe i can do this and reverse my diabetes!

:D:D

I made an amazing juice this morning. It's the most jam-packed juice I've ever made and it was heaven:

carrots, celery, tomatoes, beet, red pepper, fresh garlic clove, dash of cayenne. Smooth! I made a lot, so there's for later :)

I've also eaten:
a kiwi
salad: greens sprouted lentils, tomatoes, ground flax seed, red peper, olives, raisins, sunflower seeds with honey mustard dressing.

not sure about dinner, yet:)

ETA:
snack: apple slices with a bit of almond butter
salad: kale, rubbed with a little olive oil, then a few olives and a dollop of walnut pate with the rest of yesterday's soup.
dessert of mashed banana and blueberries, a bit of tahini and honey

A good day!

Okay, so I am sure if I can do this fast. This is my first day and I have such headache, and that is not good with two small children.
Here is what my day has been:

B:banana, blueberries, strawberries, spinach smoothie

L: mango,spinach,banana,1/2lemon, chia seeds smoothie (actually like a pudding)

had some more in the afternoon, along with some chia pudding

D: was apples, romain lettuce, pitted dates for dinner.

I have been drinking water, but I am just not sure if I will make it. I am not feeling that well, and I know that it is my body detoxing. Tomorrow I may have to eat something. We will see how it goes.

I was wondering if it was alright for me to workout during a fast. I enjoy running and weight training. Thanks!

Still going strong no slip ups.

Today;
B: Large Glass of Fresh Juice (Beets, Cucumbers, Celery, ginger and Apples) and 24 oz of Pom & OJ (Raw from LA's Farmers Mkt)

Live Cuisine crabby cakes (it amazes me what people name their foods when then have absolutely no resemblance to and taste nothing like the name) LOL!

Not really hungry today have been snacking (all raw) and drinking lots of water
I went to Fmrs Mkt this morning and loaded up. Then to Whole foods for a lot of their prepackaged raw snacks to have on hand. I have Salt & Vinegar potato chips in my dehydrator and later will dehydrate a large portobello mushroom filled with the pate for lunch tomorrow.

Bye

I am pretty much set for this week. I have the marinara sauce, the pate and the salad dressing that I made yesterday.

Hi tryingtogoraw -- the first 1-3 days can be the most difficult as your body adjusts to the new diet. Take it meal by meal and soon you will be feeling great.

I would like to add that you are not on a fast and you are eating. Smoothies are not fasting, they are food in liquid form, your body still works to digest them. A fast is when your digestive system shuts off or slows way way down. Also romaine lettuce, apple...that is a salad and it is food.

Don't think of raw food as depriving yourself. It is just the opposite. You are finally giving yourself the health and love you deserve. Good luck! We are all here to support you!

Wow, already I feel like I never want to eat cooked food again- it's so unappealing. My digestion is so much better, my cracked lips are gone, i'm in love with growing things.
