Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Welcome to the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

Luckily or unluckily, I am also sick with a cold. I'm not hungry, but I am downing juices (watermelon, honeydew, and green salad) so I can keep my strength up.

I will tell you this: this is the first time in my life I have NOT been hungry! I usually eat no matter what: flu, stress, etc...

Yesterday went really well, got cravings last night for potato chips (salt) had a small hand full of raw almonds and a peach instead. Also decided to make only one entree a day for lunch so tat is my heaviest meal. The rest of the day will be fresh fruit, smoothies, fresh juice and water water water.

Here is what I will be eating today:

Fresh Juice (beets, cucumbers, spinach, ginger celery and apples)
Large salad (broccoli, tomatoes, multi colored peppers, mushrooms and a vegan cheesy raw sprinkle from Whole Foods)
Dressing using Allissa's mayo as base, it came out really good
Fresh Fruit
Smoothie
Water

Wishing all a wonderful Weekend

Wow after day 1 and already my body is showing signs of readjusting (little healing crisis). I have a great amount of energy! So excited and inspired to keep going! :D

janetc - sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Good job keeping it raw even though you aren't hungry. I know when I'm not feeling well I crave (or at least used to crave) cooked comfort foods. Fortunately, I haven't been sick for a long time. Over time I'm sure you'll build up the immunity in your system.

sjpersonal - it's always a good idea to have a plan, sounds like you've got a winner.

RawkinM - It's great that you have noticed such a big difference so soon. What a great motivator!

Peach
Smoothie with almond milk, raspberries, apple, vanilla, bee pollen, parsley, arugula
HUGE green salad with red leaf lettuce, tomato, shredded red cabbage, red peppers, raw sauerkraut, raw french fried onions
Banana
Raw trail mix - raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds

~soup:spinach leaves, apple, lemon juice, bit of fresh basil, dash cayenne, water

Rawhorizon, so excited for your 10day juice fast. By chance are you doing the 10 day program offered by Natasha St Michael? Bon courage!

1L of lemon water, followed by 1L of green juice (romaine, zucchini, carrot, apple, ginger, and maca. The maca addition was divine!)
Big green salad od red leaf lettuce, carrot, fresh figs, pear and sesame seeds.
Snack of cashews and Go Raw ginger snaps.
Sprouted quinoa this weekend and made the two qunioa salads from Sarma's Raw Food, Real World recipe book. The grape one was to die for, the tabbouleh tasted like tabbouleh! :) I am going to try to sprout more this autumn/winter as I read sprouts are great raw food for cold weather.

Feeling AMAZING overall- just a few hours of extreme tiredness in the afternoon, but came through it just fine. My mum's also taken on the challenge and she's expiriencing horrible sensitive teeth; we speculated it would be her bodies way of telling her to have less acidity fruit. Would anyone have any suggestions on this? She's gonna start flushing her mouth with salt water and we're having GS everyday. Many thanks in advance. I really appreciate this website. It's just fabulous. Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
