Welcome to October!!!
This is the place to list your movement/fitness goals for yourself, or just post what movement you get in.....It's up to you!! :)
You can join at anytime, stay as long as you like & post whenever you want.....(I'm hoping there will be more group participation this month....I get lonely!! ;) )
So, what are your plans for October???!!!

Piggy-backing on my goals from last month......
I hope to get "some" movement in each day - no matter how long, just do "something".....;)
I am feeling like I'd like to get more yoga into my days for the relaxation/restorativeness it provides. My work life has been very hectic for the last month & I could really use more "Me" time!!!
I will still be teaching/doing my 2 - 1hr yoga classes during the week on Tues/Thurs.
I need to get my exercise area cleaned up so I can do something at home each day......
Who's with me this month??????

I'm with ya Monkl!!! :D
I like to keep track of what I do exercise-wise on here for some reason!! It keeps me motivated!!
What I've decided to do through out for the rest of P90X (2nd round) is that I'm not going by the routine in the book. I pick out what DVD for P90X I feel like doing for that day. And if I don't feel like doing P90X that day, I pick out something else to do movement-wise like walking, rebounding, ketlebells, pick out one of my exercise dvds, and etc!!! You get the idea....:D
So happy exercising to all!!!!!
Looking forward to October!!!

I am halfway through week 6 of P90x! Yesterday morning I did an organized 5k run on the beautiful Wissahickon creek trail that I live on. I ran 5, then walked the 5 back to my house :). It wasn't timed or anything. I really want it to stop raining so I can ride my bike... too chicken to ride in the rain with cars, etc. Tomorrow morning I have yoga x at 4:45 :D

I would like to join, if I may? I didn't do anything this morning except chase my kids around and get them ready for school.
Tomorrow I will either run outside if it is raining I will go to the gym and lift weights. Tonight I am hoping to do some yoga as long as my husband gets home in time. I will fill you all in tomorrow!!
Thanks for the group!

Well today I got up early and did a half hour of strength training. Tomorrow I am hoping to go for a jog. I also mopped the floor this evening. I am a little nervous about running...this will be the first time since i have gone raw...and i always have a protein shake afterwards so i am try to figure out what to have after my run...any thoughts would be gr8!

I was thinking of a green smoothie, but I just wasn't sure. I was thinking about doing a banana, blueberries, spinach, and oranges and water. Thank you for confirming!!:)

I have been trying some intuitive "yoga" by hand, going with the muscle mass and stretching out to limber up, especially my spine. Since there are about 50,000 types of yoga in the world (I have experienced Ashtanga, my favorite, and Kundalini, which would be nice except my breathing is shallow due to sinus problems!) I was wondering what you guys recommend?? Can you point me to some YouTube videos or something, or your favorite "online" instruction manual?

I like visiting the Yoga Journal website.....my computer is broke & I'm borrowing a laptop, otherwise I would tell you some of the other yoga sites I visit....
Just do a google search on the type of yoga you like, or a general one - I'm sure you will come up with something that will catch your interest! :)

I don't know what is wrong with me....i just can't seem to get out of bed in the morning to do any kind of exercise. The only time I have to exercise is 5:30am, which use to not be a problem for me. I am waiting for this energy that everyone that is raw talks about, needing less sleep all of that stuff. My goal is to get up tomorrow morning and run at least 3 miles. Then next week I want to get back into my routine. I am going to go do a yoga class tonight, so that will count for something! :p

Hi's
I will be joining the movement challenge with you all,or you two :)
I work a pretty physical job,so sometimes I just dont wanna do nothing after work. But as they say, your body gets use to this, and you have to do something new to make a diffrence.
Got real lucky at my weekly weigh in meeting this thursday and one of the girls husbands is a trainer an is offering to train ppl for an hour on saturdays at the crack of dawn. Besides the time issue, hate mornings, figured this was an amazing opportunity,so i jumped on it.As a group they also said they would like to shoot for a 5k walk for those interested around febuary.I'd like to be in condition to do this.
I'd also like to start riding my bike 3 days a week.I road it once about 2 weeks ago and my thighs still hurt.Have to get past that,I have a slip disc so sometimes the ache when walkin can be unbearable,so hopeing the raw lifestyle and step up in exersice will help to eliminate more weight and keep me somewhat more limber........
Anyhow I hope I can stick to this, and wish you guys the best in your goals.....

You could do a search on youtube for tons of free videos - I would recommend anything that you ENJOY doing - that is the key!!
For me, I like yoga.....I also tried P90X & loved that, but my body wasn't quite ready for it....
If you have a dvd player & a library card - check them out for free videos to rent.....Netflix also has a TON of videos to select.
You could also just do jumping jacks, push ups, in place running....anything that gets your heart moving....
Magazines have workouts in the sometimes.....exercise websites.....lots of options, let us know what you come up with!! :D

Mmm....not sure what you're asking? I do have a VCR for some of my VHS videos.....
If you mean P90X, I've decided to follow the structure of the workouts per week or similar to it which is aerobic 2x, weights 3x, yoga 1x followed by a good stretch or a break on 7th day which is when I fast. My body has gotten used to P90X that I need to mix it up with other stuff and not be stuck on a the same routine for a month which P90X is the same routine per a month. I'm learning that I really like a lot of variety and P90X has taught me that. Doing something different everyday makes it fun for me! I didn't make it with the 2nd round of P90X. So I'm doing something similar in my own way! :)
BTW, Tracy Effinger is awesome! I need lighter weights for this which I don't have. She does alot of reps with weights that heavy weights isn't for this program! More like between heavy and light kind of weights is what I need for this workout.
Need to figure out what I feel like doing today!! :D

ArcturusXIV ~ A rebounder is good to have for a good indoor aerobic which is very healing for the cells in the body. It doesn't have to be expensive. I got mine at K-mart for about $40.00 or so, while there are alot of them over $100,00. check out craiglist or garage sales to find some really good deals. You can lay it up againest the wall and really doesn't take up alot of space.
It's mellow and it's fun to jump with fun with ease!! :D

ArcturusXIV ~ Cool!! I was just wondering if you missed reading my post when you had the question earlier on? :p
Hi Shine!!! :) P90X does have a payment plan.
I'm making up my own version now following the foundation of what P90X is.
On weight lifting days which is 3x a week, pick two or three major muscle group to work on in a rotation. The last three reps should be really feeling the burn in the muscles. Two sets for each move and the weights are heavy enough to work with and able to work with to keep good form.
Aerobic days which is 2 x a week for a good hour
Yoga which is 1x a week.
Then take it easy 1x a week!
And then change up the order of the routine every month so the body doesn't get used to it!
That how P90X is and it was really hard for me to get back into the first month for the 2nd round so I figured because the routine changes every month that my body loves the changes every month. And that is why I'm making up my own changes to keep going! :)
Anyways, thought this might help in the meantime while you're saving up for the P90X,

Healthful and energizing thought!!

I've been working so hard on the book and business and being a good wifey wife who keeps the place clean and food in the D... that somewhere in there I have not been working out much at all.
YIKES!
Making the commitment to get out of this rut TODAY. Going to go for a nice brisk walk before I *really* get in gear on my work... and if I'm feeling really crazy I have the option locally for either Bikram yoga at 5:30 or the Power Hour at 4:30...
or a bike ride. It's lovely out! :)
