So I think I have figured out why it's been harder for me to stick to 100% raw ... I have noticed that at breakfast I am fine, I LOVE my smoothies (papaya, mango, pineapple, strawberries, mint, coconut water). If I can whip one up first thing I make about 80 oz. to last me the day and drink it throughout.

(sidenote: my doctor told me to stop drinking spinach because I have anemia and very low ferritin levels, he said the oxylates in spinach counteract iron absorption. I have not found another green that tastes good in my smoothie besides Kale and I can't always get fresh kale here and certainly never organic).

Lunch I can have a salad, tomatoes, avocado, raw sushi, fruit, I feel okay with any of these choices.

Snacks, I usually eat kiwi, or kiwi and strawberries mixed, more fruit smoothie, handful of almonds, banana with almond butter, banana chocolate mylkshake, orange with walnuts, etc.

Dinner, this is where I fall apart. If I do not eat some fruit or drink some smoothie before dinner I get TOO hungry and wanted a cooked food meal with my family. OR I may crave something salty which I have not found a wide variety of foods that satisfy this craving. Or I get bored since I ate salad at lunch, I don't necessarily want another salad.

I do not have a dehydrator yet but am getting on in about 2 weeks, so I think this limits me a lot too.

The few times I have slipped and eaten things like chicken parmesan, real sushi, cooked pad thai, either immediately following or the next day I feel AWFUL!!!! My biggest problem and reason for trying RAW is because after I eat cooked food I get a huge distended belly, or cramps or constipation. I swear my body can not digest cooked food!!!! I've been tested for IBS but tests were negative. When I was able to stay 100% raw (about 3 weeks), I felt GREAT and was not constipated at all. I know my body needs this and that this is the answer to my problems.

Can anyone suggest any ways for me to do this and get through dinner boredom without a dehydrator right now, as well as salty food cravings that throw me off. Also, would it be okay to mix fruits with my dinner so if I am eating a veggie salad can I also have a fruit salad with my meal or is this bad food combining?

Thank you!!

Michele

You are doing very well and should be proud of your achievements so far.
If you want to have fruit with a non fruit meal then have it first. There is no reason why you should not.
Celery may cut your need for salty foods. You could make some dips for dinner and have it with cucumber slices and celery sticks.
Alissa's onion dip is good and salsa would be great.
I would think that kale has as much oxalic acid as spinach but always remember that baby spinach is much lower than bigger leaves.
