Hi all, I'm new here. I discovered raw food through research on the internet in desperation to fix my health problems. seems to have done the trick! However, am struggling a bit sometimes as I get turned off by raw food when I'm feeling stressed or sick, all I want is plain old comfort food like soup, and soft bread sandwiches. I leave it until I'm so hungry I feel slightly sick cos I feel almost scared of eating foods I'm not used to and taste a bit weird to my non-raw palate, in case they make me feel ill. I had a very bad reaction to wheatgrass a couple of months ago which I think is responsible for the slight fear and feeling sick/nausea. (An hour after drinking it I was violently sick). I really want to eat raw as I feel so much more energetic, yet when I do feel a bit off, or I get a virus (which comes with the territory of havign a toddler who brings in all sorts of germs!), all i want to eat is comfort food, and I know that raw food would make me feel better but I just can't stomach it! I can face raw desserts though, always! I have a stash of my home made raw ice creams of various flavours in banana leather cones in the freezer, and enjoy those when I can't face anything else.
I've tried making raw breads and crackers and they're just rubbish! Best I've made so far is a cinnamon raisin bread, but what I'm yearning for is a 'real' bread like recipe. At the moment I'm just eating home made spelt bread as I figure its better than shop bought white!
Am hoping you can all help and support me to stay on track! I'm sure I have a lot to learn! All suggestions most welcome!
Thanks so much,
Rosie x
