So today is day 9 of my 10 day fast. Last time I tried to break with honeydew. Not sure if it wasn't ripe, or my system wasn't up for it. I switched to pears. It was not everything I dreamed it would be. :)
in your experience, what is your favorite break- fast food??

What kind of fast was it?

good question katie. makes a huge difference.
if it's a water fast... break it with juice
if it's a juice fast... break it with a soft fruit like soaked prunes, skinless-seedless grapes, papaya (you get the idea)
if it's a green smoothie fast... break it with soft fruit.

Try to take one "gentling" meal (based on the rate of 3 a day) for each day fasted. I.E. juice or soft fruit as Aleesha says for about three days and a meal or two more, for a ten day fast. By then you should be back to fairly normal and regular bowel movements. If not keep on soft fruits until you are. I find this keeps me out of distress post fast. I seem to have a bit slower digestion than some though, so you may do well with less time. This is just a good guideline I found that works well for me. Congrats on the ten days. I think that will be my next fasting goal-ten days.

Thanks. You've been a wonderful teacher on the subject!
You may already know much of this Mindful mamma, but I will throw it out there.....
I would also suggest to chew your fast breaking meals very very thoroughly, until mixed well with your saliva and juiced well in your mouth. The chewing process stimulates good digestion. After this last seven day fast I found myself creating lots of saliva as I ate. That all aids the digestion incredibly. It may also do you well to add some acv or sour drinks/fruits like citrus to boost saliva production and assist digestion. Maybe there is a different opinion on that but I try to do that and it seems to help me. It is our natural tendency to gulp the food down upon eating after a fast (well, mine anyway) and it takes concentration to not do so.
