Hello!
I found this forum a few days ago and was glad to see how big raw food is! It's hard to see it when talking with people. Most just stare at me when I say that I have been experimenting with raw food. I guess I did too...
I first learned about raw food at school a few years ago. I had a couple of classmates who would bring soaked nuts and nori and I had no clue. I was eating heavy duty survival food at that time and thought they were crazy.
I recently became a vegan since many of my friends have become vegan/vegetarian after seeing a movie Food Inc (I didn't see it myself). I decided, I had enough dried mushroom this season to get me through the winter. It was an easy decisiion.
I ran into Steve Pavlina's raw food experiment and started reading. I thought I wasn't able to incorporate it into my daily life (too much chewing and eating throughout the day that's not sustainable for me) but then I bought a spiral slicer and realized that I can do it! I would like to be at 50% raw. I got my vita-mix yesterday and looking for a dehydrator now.
I borrowed some books from the library but I'd prefer a website with a database of recipes (like vegweb but raw). Any suggestions?
