Welcome welcome welcome!!!
Today is Day 1 of the 30 day challenge.
If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!
Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!
We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!
WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.
We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!
In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.
Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,
Cherie

IM IN!
I am switching to raw food because of world Governments. They have a control over what goes into our foods and how its distributed. They add all these preservatives and chemicals that damage our health and get us ADDICTED.
They profit from making us sick, which gives people illnesses such as DIABETES which they DO NOT want to find cures for because they profit so much from medical expenses sufferers have to pay.
So im doing this as a stand up against the government, i am all for the good that they do but there is so much bad they do behind closed doors that they like to keep hidden from the public.

Day #1/#2 (started yesterday, but today is the 1st)
Doing great straight away I always feel so much more appreciation when I'm 100% Raw, and that seems to also come back to me- I notice gratitude everywhere and I'm so glad I have found this wonderful website to share this journey.
Thank you! Take care everyone.
All envy would be extinguished, if it were universally known that there are none to be envied.

Fell off track after 24 days...hey if I can make it that long I know I can make it 30! Just realized tomorrow was October 1st and a great day to start, and join in this challenge for the support too.
If anyone else has a lot of emotional issues that they tend to use food to cope with like me, want to buddy up and help each other in addition to this forum? I really can't wait til there are 12 step groups everywhere for cooked food addicts so we could all have sponsors and good stuff like that!

I went shopping yesterday and cleaned out my fridge. Got rid of all the dairy.
I will be preparing my meals the night before as I do not have the time to do so before work. Last night I made the Marinara sauce from Allissa's book, had to tweek it to my liking, I added more garlic, fresh onions, italian herbs and a few more dates. It is really good, made the zuchinni pasta to go with it. I cannot eat cold pasta of any kind so I will sit the container in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes to warm it up a little for lunch.
My scale broke earlier this week and I have decided to not replace it during this challenge I will instead concentrate on inches. I have listed my current measurements in my signature and will compare them to where I am at the end of this challenge.
This is what I will be eating today.
Breakfast: Smoothie (Baby spinach, Frozen Strawberries, Roots Raw Vegan Protein Powder & a tablespoon of Acai Fiber)
Lunch: Zuchinni Pasta with Raw Marinara
Snack: A large White Peach
Dinner: Smoothie (Broccoli, Spinach, Green Apples, Whole Lemon, Ice)
I also made a 1 1/2 gallons of Fresh Juice (Large Beets,Baby Spinach, Apples, Ginger, Cucumbers & Celery) Which I will drink throughout the day.
Water Water Water.....
Good luck to all of us

Cleaned out the food last night and am rearranging the kitchen this morning. I'm making a list for the market later, but I do have lots already.
I started with kiwi and apples this morning and will have a GS in a bit. I'll edit later the rest of today's food.
Have a great and successful day, All!
for all the support i can get and give!
Love to be here with all of you:) I start my journey today!

Thanks Carolv, and congrats on the 30-days! So nice you are continuing this month too. And welcome everyone to a raw October! :) it's going to be a great month. Such a great time for all the veggies and fruit being harvested before winter hits. We are so lucky to be able to appreciate them in their raw state!
Getting back into my morning routine of 1L of lemon water followed by a L of green juice. Today's juice was zucchini, romaine, apple, carrot, ginger, garlic, and green powder. Lunch of zucchini-etti with marinated mushrooms, tomato, and parsley. Snack of fresh dates. Dinner was a choco-banana-almond milk shake. Yum! Filling!
See everyone tomorrow!

Breakfast today was a green smoothie (two big handfuls of spinach, a banana, almond milk and some raw cacao bliss), a raw mushroom soup in the vitamix for lunch, some broccoli slaw w/ ACV, oil and salt and some almond butter I attempted to make for dinner. By the time I was finished making it, I had tasted so much that I wasn't hungry anymore :p
All in all a good first day.
(Hardest part was no coffee, and even that wasn't so hard)

Hey everyone.....
Will be 30days raw on the 6th. Im in for the next 30days. Gonna start the challenge with a 10 day fast, then finish the rest of the month eating raw.
Gonna bragg a lil about myself going raw.I have lost 17.6lbs in almost a month,my menstral hit this week and I ate like crazy, but I stayed raw, ordered a salad at a place and they topped it with cheese. I threw the cheese away.I was a cheesehead,so that was pretty huge for me.
Also I usually have pretty painful times of the month, this time has been pretty low key.Not perfect but noticeably better.
Went to the other health store accross town, was like Christmas for my new rawness. They had machines where you add almonds or peanuts and it makes the butter right in front of you and a corner wall of all the staples you can buy per pound, felt really blessed to find this. The people were so helpful and I learned alot. How did I not know this was even available before?!.....
Im so excited to be going on to month 2. October-My fav month of the year, crisp clean air, slight chill, all the beautiful foilage, can go outside without sweating to death YAY!!!
Sending Raw Blessings to everyone just joing and for those continuing.
