We are visiting "home" (IE. very small town, Midwest USA) and friends and family. I made the conscious decision to allow myself to deviate from my 100% raw for the couple days that it was an issue. I'm still maintaining probably 80% or higher, but it allows me to be sociable without being a spectacle. It may not be an issue for some, but seemed a low price to pay for being able to go out a bit more without my salad dressing, avocado, etc... I don't mind that usually, but...

I'm feeling quite well overall, and I think that in this instance this was the right thing to do for me. I'm still able to do most breakfast/lunches with raw, so it's not too bad.

Just my experience, YMMV.

And that's what it's all about! What a healthy attitude!

Enjoy your trip and your deviation from normal. I hope that it does not cause you any discomfort.

Thanks. Worked out OK. Glad to be back to normal, but I only really had one evening where I had some issues. I was pretty "clean" even though not all raw. I can't imagine going whole-hog and having everything in sight (which I would have done not so long ago). I guess I've learned; This is a good thing.

Awesome. This is a true measure of health, in my eyes. Healthy organisms are flexible and able to adapt to (and stay healthy through) all kinds of situations. That's not an excuse to make poor choices, but rather a way of recognizing that there is more to health that what you put in your mouth and sometimes it's all about making the best choices you can at the moment. If you can be healthy in mind, body, and social relationships while your diet sways with the breezes, as it were, you're much stronger than someone who "snaps" if they can't stick to their regimen in a narrow and perfectionistic way.

What matters is what we do over the long haul.

Just my experience and my opinion.

I think I'm going to "frame" this. What an insight to the workings of the human body.

All may not agree, and feel that 100% is the only way and I respect that. I just need to be a little flexible at times. I do see how it would be easy to start to ssss-lllll-iiiiiiii-ddddd-eeeeeee...... back to SAD. Always vigilant.

that's how it happens for many people... they start off with "sometimes" and next thing they know they are sitting in front of the tv with a bowl of SAD in front of them.

i wish you all the best on your journey! :)
