I have been researching old posts and have found a lot of great information, but I haven't read of any particular symptoms. I think I have hypothyroidism, and I'd like to see if any of your symptoms are like mine.

general fatigue part/maybe most of the time, maybe not most

waves of super-fatigue where it feels as though a drain plug on my energy has been pulled, I get sweaty and pale, and can barely drive home to the couch

cold all of the time, except above

feeling like I'm not getting enough oxygen, or my throat feels small

get depressed bc of those symptoms

more, but I just went blank

oh, social anxiety and regular anxiety.

I'm really scared and depressed about this bc I'm away at school by myself.

If you are hypothyroid - it's very easily treatable! I'm hypo after being hyper and having my poor thyroid killed (sigh - another story). I go to a holistic MD because I wanted to be on Armour thyroid (not available currently, so I'm on compounded thyroid medication).

It can also mess with your period, you may have dry skin, your hair loss may increase, you can feel like sitting in a Lazy-Boy chair all day. There are days when I wake up tired.. it's still a balance (of all my hormones) issue for me - those days are few and far between though.

You might like to take a look at this site, Stop the Thyroid Madness (http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/) for information. Keep us posted!

Amberly,

You can get tests done to figure it out, and some of the symptoms you list are symptoms of thyroid conditions, but it sounds more like anxiety itself might be the cause, unless you have some other problems that are clearly not caused by anxiety.

I have very similar symptoms and was told by doctors that I have anxiety. I have tried to figure out what's wrong with me, done a lot of tests but there was nothing that indicated any thyroid problems or any problem, although there are other tests that can be done still and sometimes it just feels like the doctors tell you whatever it's easier and put you on some kind of pill to get rid of you. So for now I have to suck it up, relax and try to find out if anxiety really is the issue without being too anxious.

You may also have some allergies, some respiration problems or back problems, sometimes not getting enough oxygen is a cause for tiredness and being cold like that. Other causes for your excessive tiredness may be fructose malabsorbtion, but that is associated with some other symptoms which you did not list. You can always Google these things, but don't get too caught up in this or it will make it worse and you'll start obsessing over it too much.

In any eventuality, I'd suggest you get some tests done for your thyroid and exclude that. Also make sure you get plenty of vitamin B and iron in your diet. Jogging has also helped me a lot in no longer being tired and breathing better.

And depression won't help either, the best thing you can do is understand that whatever you have won't really kill you, and, although all these problems feel debilitating, the best thing to do is enjoy yourself and life and take care of your body and relax.

All right, I'm not a doctor but I hope this helps, even if a little bit.
