I've been wanting to participate more in this amazing forum and finally just made myself sit down for a few minutes and read for a while and post.

So today is day 26. I have been mostly 99% raw (I say 99% because I drink lots of herb tea and not really sure if it's truly Raw?) with 4 days that I have had a cooked Vegan meal at night.. so those days were around 75-80%.

I need to lose 100 pounds and have lost 12.5 in the last three weeks. I am thrilled.. that's not even the word for it. I am SOLD! I feel better than I have in 15 years (I am 46 years old).

It's been a major change for me because I came off the Atkins diet and went totally Vegan and 75-99% Raw overnight. I was eating lots of meat and processed deli meats and lots of full fat cheeses.

The very first thing that happened to me was my chronic sinus (always slammed almost shut!) cleared up within 3 days. I had dealt with this for YEARS! Didn’t even realize how bad it was. I think I had just been used to it.

I had horrid detox. The worst headaches I have ever had in my life.. and like I said I am 46 so I have HAD some headaches.

I didn't want to take anything so I just lay in bed and pretty much cried and thought maybe I was going crazy.

I feel very good now. Still have detox symptoms every other day or so and nausea very often. Strange aches and pains.. a weird swelling in my left foot, pain in both shoulders, and well I am not even going to mention the toilet issues!! :D

I am reading voraciously and think I have bought 10 books on Raw in the last two weeks.. LOVED Alissa's book.. it's what brought me to Raw. I wish I could meet her in person and tell her how much she has changed my life.

My mother has MS and I am working on her becoming Raw also.

Right now I am reading (and LOVING) "The Live Food Factor".. wow that's an incredible book of biblical proportions.. like over 700 pages I think!

Sorry to go on and on but I am over the moon. I feel like I am in LOVE. I am.. I am in LOVE with Raw foods.

Glad to be here too~

CONGRATS and I mean that from the bottom of my 47 year old heart!!!

Isn't it amazing how we often don't even realize how sick we are until we get well and discover "Oh that's how healthy people feel"

I know Aleesha,

It's sort of like not knowing how bad your vision was until you get glasses.

You know I love finding this lifestyle at this age. I feel like it's such a gift.

Wow, that is great! Loosing weight is always a motivator for me. Raw is awesome because one can loose weight and barely have to exercise. Just think all those years I was injuring myself excersing to death and all I had to do was go raw!

You know Jupiter I agree.. the interesting thing is that NOW I actually feel like getting out and moving my body. I feel like I have actually lost allot more weight already because I have so much energy. I am up to walking a little over 2 miles each morning. I certainly did not want to do a thing but be a slug before Raw because I had ZERO energy!
