Do I have to put the banana through the juicer? Can I just blend it in the Vita Mix and get the same result?

Thanks.

I do it in the food processor. Works perfectly and there is less waste.

I do it in the vitamix and it works great, just need a little almond milk or juice to get it going.

The food processor, haven't done that one! It would be easier to clean too! Gonna try that tonight!

You do not need anything to get it going in the food processor so it is probably thicker.
Ok, Now I want some.

Ooh - I always have to add a bit of water when I do it in the vitamix. Now I want to try it in the food processor... but it's 8 am. Can I have ice cream for breakfast? :D

Edit: As it happens, I can indeed have ice cream for breakfast, and this is amazing. It's SO different from when I've made it in the vitamix - it's WAY better. Sport, I think I just fell in love with you!

We are working at opposite ends. I just tried it in the vitamix and was not at all happy with it.

LOL Yeah, food processor is way better - not going back to VM ice cream now. :P

Food processor works great but the juicer works better because it is 100% smooth. I love my icecream smooth no chunk.

There is no chunks after the food processor. It is like soft whip.

Food processor all the way! :)

I always make banana ice cream in the food processor rather than the juicer, much quicker, and the texture is just as good (definitely no lumps).

Then I don't have all the Champion pieces to clean.

Agreed! Food processor all the way! I used to always use my 12 cup moulinex food processor for banana ice cream, and it worked great. I eventually needed to get a new fp though, and while i was deciding on which one to buy, my friend lent me her kitchenaid 10 cup fp and it was TERRIBLE for making ice cream!! I couldn't believe it! It's not wide enough. The mixture didn't have enough room to move around in there. I tried making brownies or fudge in there too, and the same thing happened. It was too narrow. Everything started rolling up into a big ball (good) but then it got stuck because the fp was too narrow! So, I ended up finding a GE 14 cup digital food processor on sale for $50 (regular $100). I figured I couldn't beat that price, and i liked the design of it. All I can say is WOW! I thought my old food processor made excellent, smooth, banana ice cream. Well, my new one is INCREDIBLE! It makes the best fruit ice cream ever! It seems the largeness of the fp is a really good feature for making ice cream. Yum! And yes, banana ice cream is PERFECT breakfast food (or lunch or.....) Top it with lots of berries and you've got heaven in a bowl.

Thank you everyone. Now I HAVE to get a food processor. Mine broke months back and I am waiting until October to get a new one ... any brand recommendations?? I do have a small 3 cup one but I am guessing that is waaay too small for ice cream. Unless I do one banana. Hmmmm ...

Thanks.
