Hi everyone,

I am new here and need your feedback. I ordered a jar of "raw chocolate syrup" online. The only ingredients are "raw agave nectar" and "raw cacao powder." The jar says no heat was used to process these ingedients. The company is apparently a family owned company.

How good should a raw product like this taste? This syrup is AWESOME !!! I could not believe it. I thought that heat was needed to make agave nectar sweet (the higher the temp when processing, the sweeter). Well, this syrup is freaking sweet, AND ultra chocolaty. How can this be, just from agave nectar and raw cacao powder?

It tastes just like if I put one part Hershey's unsweetened cocoa to 2.5 parts white sugar, boiled it with just enough water to make a thick syrup, mixed it super good, then refrigerated it so that it was thick enough to spoon it out of the jar and eat like mousse. I swear, this is exactly what this "raw chocolate syrup" tastes like.

Do you think this company is fraudulent? Or can RCS really taste this heavenly? I am just flabbergasted.

Good stuff! I make a great chocolate syrup by simply stirring together raw cacao powder and raw agave. I keep the syrup in a jar in the fridge. It lasts for at least a month, but only if I forget it is in there. ;)

you could also be more sensitive to such a high fructose amount. once you cut out processed sugar and are eating more raw, its not often you have something that sweet.
I used to eat table sugar, and now without eating it anymore, sometimes strawberries are too sweet for me
