It gets pretty hot during the day, usually somewhere in the 100's.
I don't have a dehydrator and was wondering if you can sun dry fruit slices. Has anyone tried it? Any tips?
Thank you :)

You might check with Shels - she'd been using her car to dry things, but if I remember correctly she wasn't having luck with fruit.

If you are in a desert type area you should be able to. If the humidity level is high it may be a problem. In either case, adding a fan to the project (if there is no wind/breeze) may help by moving the moisture out more quickly.
I remember watching a YT video of a lady who sets things on her outside (black) trampoline to hasten the dehydration. *Ü*

I would love to do that but we have too many flies & gnats here. I've tried it but it was hard keeping the bugs away.

Yup, my black car was doing the trick for me, as long as it was above the nineties. You might have luck with some fruits, as I only tried watermelon (practically soaked in lemon juice), and then later pumpkin (which turned out alright).
It's sort of a trial-and-error thing I suppose.
