Welcome welcome welcome!!!

Today is Day 9 of the 30 day challenge.

If you haven't already... please take a moment to read the posting rules/guidelines (http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/announcement.php?a=3) of this section. Thanks!

Welcome to the Monthly Raw Challenge!

We're excited about this new area of the forum that is specifically for those of you who are eager to commit to a month of eating 100% raw foods and seeing miraculous results!

WE (one of the moderators) will start a new challenge thread on the first of every month.

We want the focus of these monthly challenge threads to be on staying raw and accountability. Therefore, if you have eaten all raw and then slip up and have something cooked, we don’t want you to beat yourself up over it or dwell on it, but this is not space to discuss it. You are more than welcome to document it in your journal/blog or ask for help in the discussion area, but it is not necessary (and not allowed) to discuss your slip-up here in the challenge threads, just get right back on track and keep going!

In the event that you feel you are not quite ready to fully commit to the challenge and you find yourself having slip-ups often, then please join us again during the following month. Of course you are still more than welcome to participate on other parts of the forum, but we would really like to keep this section dedicated to those who are committed to doing 30 days 100% raw.

Peace, Blessings and Warmest Regards,

Cherie

I can't believe I've been doing this for so long with NO PROBLEMS. I even went to the country fair for 8 hours, and it did not bother me AT ALL with all those fairsmells around me. I used to think "Wow, that smells good! I wish I could have some, but I can't." or something like that. They even had FRESH cider, but I forgot to buy some. LOL!!!

Last night I made 8 personal sized pizza crusts in the "D" to freeze for using next week and beyond. I've also made Kale chips.

So today I am having:
B:Cacao Smoothie

L:greens, red pepper, and marinated eggplant with lemon tahini dressing

S: organic apples from our yard. Usu each year they are tiny and bitter and the bugs and worms get to them first, but not this year! We have TONS of perfect apples on our 4 trees!!!

D:White Pizza. (I seem to react to tomatoes?!?! I get painful lumps on my face that itch and burn and eventually open and leave DEEP scars.????? Staying away from tomatoes, but not all nightshades seems to keep this from happening.)

Any ideas on how to make a white pizza? I've never eaten it before now, so I'm exactly sure what to do! LOL!

Thats awesome about the fair Zap.Those smells all but knock you over when attending lol WTG!!!
I am going into the belly of the beast this weekend, they are throwing a party for My fiance's birthday. But thats fine,Im bringing a salad and a raw mango pie, havent made one before, but it loooks good.Gonna break my cheapy dehydrator in.
I dont know why dehydrating seems so hard to me,sure its one of those things, once you do it one time, your like" what was all the fuss". I have seen many refrences to them Kale chips gonna have to give them a try real soon!!

Pre breakfast-water and lemon
going to eat after I get off pc-Smoothie
rest of day will be whatever is handy and raw

Highlight of the day allready is my packed beautiful refrigerator died :(
Took off work and spent half the morning storing things in coolers with ice.It was an old fridge anyhow, but the timeing couldn't of sucked more
Freezer is working good though, THANK GOD!!!

On a happy raw note. I tried raw corn for the first time and WOW,very very very good!!! I tried my hand at soaking cashews and makeing a dip,but it diddn't turn out very good had to chuck it,so i took the other half of the soaked cashews and added agava and cinnamon and nutmeg. That was very good!! ate a spoonful here an there to tide the sweettooth :)

Dang now you got me wanting to try a raw white cheese pizza-(diddnt know was possible)had to look it up to see.The link i posted I hope is not aganst the rules to post link recipies.
If not this guy did a raw pizza week,so might be cool to check out some of his recipies for idea's.
Recipie for a white cheese pizza-although he did put 'maters on it,but its pretty much omit or add whatever suits ya.Hmm after watching this I might give collards a try,I hate them cooked, and never had them raw.Maybe I will find a likeing for them Hmmmmmmmm

Im super surprised at how satisfying some of the meals can actually be,even when its just a plain salad wid avacado.

Yesterday I tried some new "raw cookies" -- at first taste they were odd - but after that I was able to enjoy the flavors of the cacao and sesame.

Enjoying "raw" cereal as a treat, just fruit and nuts w/almond milk.

Soaking some buckwheat now, hoping to make some raw dehydrated bread today.

As I think about it, over this last week I have not felt the really really tiredness that makes me feel like I could sleep during just about any time in the day. I'm not "bounding" with energy, but I have a nice level increase in my energy -- I think overall I feel better. I'm sleeping most excellently. I usually do sleep quite nicely, but I believe I'm having deeper sleep. What will be interesting to me is to find out if I need less sleep. I'm a person who usually needs lots of sleep, more than the average bear :). So if I can get my sleep needs down that would be awesome!

I love fresh salad dressings and last night enjoyed a quickly made dressing with cumin and a kind of vinegar and herbs, very nice indeed.

Good to see everybody persevering. =]

NO idea what to eat today, other than banana, maybe banana ice cream. I'm thinking of making some applesauce too...

Any ideas on how to make a white pizza? I've never eaten it before now, so I'm exactly sure what to do! LOL!

How about raw alfredo sauce, mushrooms and a variety of minced veggies like broccoli, carrots, onion. Could sub one of the raw 'cheeses' for the alfredo too.

I used to like SAD alfredo Pizza that was white sauce, chicken, mushrooms and broccoli. Seems the raw one would be good...

Zaphirah - AWESOME! I hope I can get to the point where cooked food smells don't bother me anymore. That is what I am working towards.

RawHorizons - Dehydrating opens up a whole new world of raw foods for you. I think you'll love it!

I'm sorry to hear about the refrigerator going out on you. You had it so beautifully stocked too. I'm keeping a close eye on my refrigerator as it has been making some strange noises lately. DH says it is probably the fan going bad. :(

The Raw White Pizza recipe looks really good.

Small amount of a savory green smoothie that I tried. Had too much garlic in it and couldn't finish it. I need to stick with sweet green smoothies, they are my favorite. Maybe over time I will like the savory ones more, especially with less garlic. :D

sweet corn salad
tomato garlic basil flax crackers
baby carrots
green salad
flax crackers with sweet onion salsa
red pepper lime soup
cantaloupe
