Tumeric

I went to the hfs and found they had tumeric root. I have read about tumeric health benifits and bought a few of the root pieces (very expensive), but bought a few to try them. I ate one piece raw it does not taste bad - kind of a spicey carrot. I may put some in a smoothie. does any one know other things to do with raw turmeric?

i grate it like ginger and squeeze the juice from both into fresh tomato soup! It is also really really effective if you happen to eat contaminated lettuce or something... really soothing on the tummy :)

Add pieces to nut loaf mixture, curry sauces, anything spicy, mexican food etc.

Fresh tumeric root is a FANTASTICALLY healing food!

Does turmeric root stain your teeth like turmeric powder? I've been taking it for inflammation but although the powder is cheaper (than tablets) it stains.
