Hey for some reason I'm just not hungry anymore and full of energy, but I feel rested and and get plenty of sleep at night. What's wrong?
Lol, it's really amazing, yesterday, all I had was a salad and worked out at the gym and was just fine the whole day with that one salad, I guess this is good? I don't understand why I'm not hungry though, right now as I'm writing this I feel no hunger pains, should I just eat anyways?
Btw, I've lost 21 pounds according to my weigh in Monday, I'm about to weigh myself again pretty soon, somehow the weight is just pouring off me, I actually lost 21 lbs in 15 days, ten of those days was while I was on the Master Cleanse. By this time next year I'm going to look like a string bean lol. Actually I'll probably start muscle building by 160 so I don't look like my friend Sean lol.
Just thought I'd share,

It's likely your body making adjustments to all the changes. I usually find it better to eat every few hrs regardless of whether I'm hungry. You can stick with light to moderate meals rather than heavier ones. Or you can decide to do a juice fast or feast to detox more.

I also just got off the master cleanse on monday, and I made myself a nice size avocado and kale salad yesterday and it filled me up all day. I actually forgot to eat more because I wasn't hungry. I ended up eating a small handful of raw cashews but that was it for the day. I'm not sure if raw food is just more filling or if it's because I just got off the master cleanse which prob shurnk my tummy. I am new to this raw food thing myself so I can't give you much advice. Anyways, best of luck.

It's probably a phase your body is going through while it embraces your improved lifestyle. I don't think you should eat if you aren't hungry, just drink lots of water. Your appetite will return (and if it doesn't, well, go ahead and have a few bites of something. :P That should trigger it).

I'm the same way. I used to take naps daily. Haven't had one in weeks. I even sometimes can't fall asleep at my usual times but once I fall asleep, I'm out!
I also noticed my hunger patterns have changed. I used to have problems eating late at night before I went to bed, now I am full after I eat my dinner... I don't even want to do any snacking after 6 or 7pm. Normally I'd be binging up until midnight. This has really helped with weightloss. ;)

For 15 years I've had problems waking up at 2:00am unable to fall asleep again until 5:00am since I've gone raw when I fall asleep at night I sleep through the night! I'm amazed. when I went off raw for a couple of months this year those bad sleeping patterns came back!
I also find myself not as hungry and I don't feel the urge to do late night eating either ! Yeah!
I find when I eat watermelon, I'm hungry but if I eat flaxseed crackers and bananas, I seem to stay full longer throughout the day.

I don't get hunger pangs anymore either! I read a while back in Dr. Fuhrman's book, that a growling stomach is not true hunger, just withdrawal from addictive foods, like processed sugar, caffeine, saturated fats, etc. And true hunger is more like a feeling you get back in the mouth or throat. Now I can tell when I'm hungry.. it doesn't hurt or feel uncomfortable like it used to though :)
Also, I find that if for some reason I don't get brekkie in (very, very rarely these days) then I won't feel like eating for the rest of the day. Sometimes you have to put in some food to get the appetite going.

I've been raw about a month but I have triple the energy that I had before. I'm finding that I can multitask --doing a million things at once and not tiring out. I am awake by sunrise! I sleep very soundly when I do sleep but find going to bed too early doesn't work. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, I've been on the diet 4 days now, I think I know why you're not hungry... (clearly your stomache is smaller and you're conditioned yourself, as well as your master cleanse.) What I'm finding for myself -- is that as the days go on - I'm less and less interested in food except for when my body indicates it must have food; even then I think I'm pretty much not very interested because of the food -- it lacks delicious savory smells... The smell of hot buttered popcorn, or barbequed hamburgers, or grilled steaks with salt pepper and garlic are not tantalizing my tastebuds because I'm not tasting them or smelling them... You can't smell "raw bars" except for their deep almost burnt cacao flavor, can't really smell much with raw unsalted seeds and nuts, yeah they taste good but after awhile -- it's kindof all the same, something might taste delicious like guacamole... But without heat to bring out wonderful savory flavors in food -- it's kinda like boring, no wonder I'm not very hungry. The apple I ate this morning... was delicious. "An apple never tasted so good." My usually kinda yucky tasting green lemonade (which reminds me of puke) actually seems like it tastes better now... I think that raw as a full diet is very unnatural. When ya have to work hard to come up with flavors that are pleasing beyond anything in its original state, it just seems wierd to me -- it seems more strange to me now after 4 days than before. Kinda seems like you pick a seed, a nut, grind it up, add lemon, maybe oil and an herb - and that's like the basic of any salad dressing -- After 4 days, when I imagine hot blackberry cobbler which I know is delicious, my tastebuds are less tantalized; I think this raw food diet somewhat produces the "cardboard effect" in that food becomes kindof like eating cardboard, it's there and you must. A little over dramatacized but kindof my current reality. With the exception of a fruit smoothie... Now that's refreshing these days.

I find it interesting that you feel this way about eating raw, because to me it's completely the opposite. I'm constantly surprised by how good food tastes in its natural state, and as time is going on (3+ months raw), I find myself less and less drawn to the fancy recipes and more drawn to really simple raw food. Even salads with lots of veggies and dressing are starting to interest me less than just a plate of raw veggie sticks or a bowl of cut up fruit. I've also almost entirely lost my taste for sweets - I loved the RP brownies at first, but now they're too sweet for me most of the time.
It makes me sad that you're not enjoying raw foods - for me it's almost intoxicating how enjoyable eating this way is.

Just the mention of blackberry cobbler is making my mouth water lol
raw fruit crisp is amaaaaaazing! fresh sliced peaches, blueberries, raspberries, with a splash of nut milk, finely ground pecans or almonds (some raw, some may not be) with a pinch of cinnamon and vanilla bean.. I'm going to make some right now!
Tenuviel, LOVE IT! I might do just that tomorrow! Thanks for the great idea.
OK = peaches warmed in the dehydrator with light honey and some cinnamon on top... YUMMY!!!!
YUMMY!!! I CAN ALMOST SMELL IT NOW!:D

Can I say that even the thoughts of those smells is making me a little sick. They disgust me and always did. I guess that we are not all made the same or else we pick different things up on our journey through life.
Now on the other hand the smell of a luscious ripe mango will do it for me every time.

I think it was because you just came off the master cleanse. That was what happened to me after I came off the MC too. Because you haven't eaten anything but the lemonade, the digestion system was shut down, so the stomach shrunk A LOT! The first week I came off it I could hardly eat three pieces of pineapple or three carrots for lunch and I was so full I was uncomfortable! hahaha. But I tried to eat several small meals a day because you still need the nutrition. During that first week it took me a while to get my appetite back for solid food. I was still drinking a lot of liquids - water and fresh juices (except no more of that lemonade! haha).
Your appetite will come back within a week or two, I think. And while I was in that transition stage the weight did come off rather quickly, almost too quickly, that will slow down to a healthy loss once you start eating better again.
That said, sometimes I still can go all day with only eating a salad cause I'm just not hungry. But the body still needs to be fed. I think that was mostly because of my habits before i went Raw. I used to be the kind of person who could skip breakfast and lunch, and binge-eat at supper. It has been VERY hard to break that cycle and begin to eat breakfast & lunch and snacks in between because I had developed a terrible habit! I eat way more now than I used to on my SAD diet! I also don't eat as much on the weekends when I don't have a fixed schedule, so maybe my body doesn't need as much fuel??
And learn to listen to your body when it does want food!

Maybe you had never experienced a true hunger, which IS energizing, and not a dis-ease experience to those that eat for stimulation.
In nature, it is normal to feel invigorated at the desire for food because the act of appropriating it required some effort, sometimes great effort. This was a normal state to surviving.
That process, in modern times, has become perverted because of never ending easy access which leads people to eat habitually and in a recreational capacity, never out of healthy needs triggered by actual hunger. More like a dis-eased state that becomes soothed by another over-stimulative repast.
Your getting your internal house in order. Congratulations!!!
