Hello everyone,
My name is Jake, I'm 16 y.o. I've been vegetarian for about 6months. When I was much younger I was always a little overweight, but never obese. In the last 2 years I turned my health around by my own will and going vegi was just one step further that I felt calling me. About 2months ago, I was sitting at my computer and for whatever reason (a message from the universe?)the words "raw food diet" came into my head. With my personality, the minute something new is presented to me, immediately I have a desire to explore and learn more about it. I had only heard of it once from an episode of wive swap (lol). So that started my journey into boat loads of research, videos , everything... I'm not actually raw, not yet... See, my parents were hesitant to let me even go vegi, and raw to them is like a whole 'nother universe or something that I'm going to harm myself by entering. I do eat healthy and have raw food things quite often. Breakfast is almost always an assortment of fruit. I know how it feels those days when you made a juice or an awesome smoothie. The amount of energy is unexplainable. So although I'm not raw, I do try and sneak it in as much as possible. At the grocery store, me mum lets me go off and get some things I want and I come back with bags and bags of fruit :D. So, thanks for having me here... sorry if this intro was all over the place Lol. Hope to become a part of this community :).
Ps: I recently had my yearly physical, and my doctor was very pleased with my numbers. He had no complaints like "too skinny" or any of that and my blood work was tremendous. So I was very happy to hear that. He also suggests I go to a nutrionists, just to get some advice and second opinions if I need it. Advice never hurt anyone . I plan to bring up the raw food thing hopefully all goes well and my parents will support me just like they've supported me before. This has never been about losing weight, though my parents seem to miss that. Its just about eating good, wholesome foods. Pure, tasty, and energy pack :D
Peace, love, unity, and respect to everyone
-Namaste.
