Does anyone have a good book recommendation on stretching. I don't have a local bookstore, so hard to browse right now and need to order something online.

I was recently evaluated, and my range of motion (even though I'm healthy and relatively fit) is in need to help. We are 'on the road' so don't really have the ability to join a fitness center or the like, so guess it's a book for me.

I do have a laptop so could do a dvd as well. Would probably be better??

One good book would be Total Body Training by Richard Dominguez and Robert Gajda

I received physical therapy at Gajda Health Plus and learned a lot of helpful things from Bob and his staff.

My (most wonderful in the whole world) chiropractor just recommended a balance disc. Seems like it's a fit made in heaven for my small space - RV. This woman is the greatest - she is into about 4 different lifestyle care options and uses applied Kenesiology. Gotta love it.

You got to find a good Pilates studio. My chiro recommended it and now I don't need the chiro. YOu get lots of great benefits from that. I would also recommend rolfing. Pilates+some rolfing will do so much more than 1,000 great books on stretching probably ever will.

I LOVE my Pilates studio, but will be moving soon. They really know what they are doing and they are good at. I have stabilized my pelvis that years of chiro never could do. I just competed in a 25K XC ski race....never did anything like that before and I am in my mid-40's. Holy moly! I attribute that to Pilates!! My back did not hurt at all...it was mostly my feet the day after the race.

I can not say enough about Pilates, but make sure you get someone really experienced in it, not the person at your local gym. Go to a reputable studio.

Just another perspective.

I use this DVD (Well I think that I have an earlier version). I do not think that I paid as much as that for it. I ordered it through the 6wisemen website when they recommended it.
It is not very professionally done (maybe the later ones are better) but when you see how far those 2 can stretch it gives you great confidence in it.

Hatha Yoga Illustrated is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! I have 2 yoga certifications and I still like to use it to remind myself of some of the benefits and exact bits to the postures!

It's here. :) (http://www.amazon.com/Hatha-Yoga-Illustrated-Martin-Kirk/dp/0736062033/wwwreadysetra-20)

I have a replaced knee and find it very hard to kneel; the couple of yoga studios I have tried cannot adjust for me while doing it for everyone else... I'm sure there is an option, I just haven't found it yet.

link spamming is the posting of inane paragraphs, often defining the topic under discussion and very often lifted wholesale from the web somewhere, very often on threads which have been dead for some time. The absolute giveaway is that it is usually a very newbie poster with a link in their signature and this pattern is usually seen over a number of threads.

It's not allowed!

You now see the disadvantage of commenting on a spam post.
The post has now been removed (thanks to our ever vigilant moderator) but your comment is still there and everyone will be wondering why on earth you had made that comment and may even suspect your sanity (or lack of it).

I reported the spam myself. Not sure why you are upset about my comment.

Good Gracious me. I do not get upset. I never get upset. I have more important things to do than that like living and enjoying it.
I was messing with you. I actually thought that your comment was very good and most appropriate. I hate those spammers too. Pain in the butt.

I get upset sometimes ... but less so as I get older and wise-up to the fact that it doesn't achieve much :)
