Hello there Raw Foodies! My name is Angie and I am new here, never thought of raw food before but I have several books and am amazed!
My parents passed away last year mom and dad 2 weeks with in each other, going through all the stress and taking care of my aunt who had a stroke well I got lost in the fast food world! I'm a Chef graduated school but I work in the medical field. I packed on weight and my parents passing also gave me an awareness of my health and my family's health, so my family we are going to take the 30 day challenge!
We are already doing the Wheatgrass shots and the green smoothies, just one problem my 3 yr old won't drink it, she dont like the color or taste...hmmmm what to do?

Welcome Angie. :) How about adding more bananas to the smoothie so it turns yellow & adds more flavor. Or you can add other fruit that will provide color. Mango and banana is a good combo. Orange juice is good at hiding the taste of greens. Usually with kids, they'll relate to the color in comparison with a favorite TV, movie or book character. You can also just do mainly fruit with only a little greens until that becomes a routine, then slowly add in more. Likely the wheatgrass is a turn off to the smoothie, so maybe skip that for now.

Yup, it's all about flavor! Do only fruit to start, and add greens slowly later. Pick your fights.

Welcome to the raw world and best of luck on your 30 day challenge! Blueberries make a smoothie purple. Just one idea...make your 3 yr old a smoothie with almond milk, bananas, strawberries, blueberries and spinach. That will be sweet and have hidden greens! Plus you can sneak in other thing also.

Thanks to all of you that had great ideas!!! She had he first smoothie and I found she will eat all strawberries if I let her! lol She ate Kayle chips this morning and loved them, we just bought a dehydrator a Nesco. I love it!! I'm feeling better everyday but I hate this detox sluggish thing I have going on!
