I'm trying to get my husband to become a raw foodest, but it's going to be hard! He's eat vegetarian right now! I actually think a raw food diet is way easier to enjoy then a vegetarian diet! Anyway I'm trying to find a nut bar recipe I can make, so he has something he can take with him to work to have on hand when he needs it! Plus he's used to a high fat diet (he just stopped eating the SAD) and that's why he's craving those high fats right now. I know those good fats will make him happy and keep him away from the bad fats!
So would anyone know of any easy recipes with nuts and seeds that won't have to be processed, just chopped up (if so)! One's that won't have to be kept in the fridge so he won't have to worry about them turning on him! Maybe one's that's been done in the dehydrator!
Thanks, sorry I know I'm asking alot here! If the recipe has to have some agave syrup or raw honey- that's fine with me! I just want something that will be easy to make and it will be o.k. for him to put in his locker and he won't have to worry about putting it in the fridge!
Thanks again and sorry so long! Have a fruitful day!

You can just chop up soaked dates & nuts and mix them together, adding in any other ingredients if needed. Other ingredients can be sweetener, coconut, fresh fruit, etc. Then you cut them into bar shape and freeze.

well not sure if you want to hear from a seed or not but here's what I've done, and that being said.
I found on this site a recipe for a chocolate 'bar' then I went to the lara bar site (not sure if this is what your talking bout or not) and looked at the flavor's that appealed to me I made a list of ingredient for each bar and we are replicating them on a small scale when we want to experiment. ds is loving trying out these mini recipes. once we work out the kinks i've got software that will adjust the ingredients to serve more.
just tonight I ate two small chocolate fudge balls- actually tasted better the 4th day- only a bit spicy as we added cayenne.

I would put nuts and seeds in a bowl--rough chopped almonds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, pistachios, cause I love 'em, and maybe some dried fruit too--raisins, gojis, whatevs. Then soak some dates, either in water or orange juice. If using OJ, I would add some orange zest too. Then blend dates and the soaking liquid in blender, adding a pinch of salt, and perhaps some spices. Coat the nuts, etc. with the date paste press onto dehydrator sheets and take it from there.

I mix cashews and dates in the FP until they form a batter, then spread the mixture in a pan, refrigerate briefly, cut into bars, then back in the fridge.
