Hi everyone,
I've been researching into a holistic health service and was wondering if anyone here uses this in place of the regular doctor. If so, how have you liked it, what kind of things do you have done, etc. I have to admit that I don't know too much about health insurance, I've just been on my parents' health care, but does insurance tend to cover any kind of holistic visits/treatments? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Also, how might the holistic doctor versus 'regular' doctor affect going to school - sometimes the school requires certain immunizations upon entering or physicals. Would the holistic doctor be able to sign these forms saying you are healthy..?

Our insurance is quite limited as to what they'll pay for from my holistic MD. They'll pay for things that are "in the box", but not things "outside the box". In other words - they'll pay for say a mammogram, but not a thermogram. They'll pay for standard accepted AMA approved items.

I know now to get all thing pre-approved, in writing, with my insurance company.

My holistic MD is not a preferred provider and I have difficulty with in insurance, but I knew that going in. I wouldn't switch docs no matter what though - I love him! *Ü*
