So I had been given a recipe for a green juice consisting of cucumber, apple, kale, chard, cilantro and parsley. Today I upped the Kale from 1 large leaf to 3 large leaves. I strained the juice and it had a veeeeeeeeeeery strong "bite" to it. It was not very palatable and I only drank half a glass and quit. Even that little bit upset my stomach.

What should I learn from this? That kale is good, but only in moderation?

I've only just started juicing but have found that whether I use spinach, kale or swiss chard, carrots, celery or whatever combo I'm doing. I save the apple for the last as it is the top note that I taste making the whole glass go down much smoother.
today I did a carrot, celery, cucumber and forgot to add my apple.... ugh!!!! I drank it but had to pinch my nose to get past the 'blah' taste.

Just add more apple to it, dando - kale does develop that strong taste when you add more of it, and over time you'll probably get used to it, but if you're having trouble getting it down, add more fruit. :)

increase your greens slowly... upping from one leaf to two... and make sure you have some apple, citrus and maybe some ginger in there as well.
