I'm in. I'm thinking I'll have to do more recipes than the earlier posters, but I'm inspired, feeling yucky and ready to go!! 100% raw for 15 months two years ago and just half hearted since then. It's time!

I'm planning on doing this! I've been preparing... This will be my first time. I'm hoping for 99 - 100% raw! Still haven't found a satisfactory milk choice for my cold-brewed coffee -- your suggestions?

You can make milk out of absolutely any nut. Try one that you haven't yet.

Day one here for me. New season, new month, new me. I want to treat my body as a temple. Be pure, be free, be inspired to a higher level of me.

I'm in! 100% Raw for a year and a half and then super half a$$ed after that. Summer brought on a foreign, chubbier version of myself that I don't like. I want to be raw FOR GOOD again!! Felt soooo much healthier and had a better self image.

I am in and I am ready. The gutting and rebuild of our new home is finally done, now I have more time for myself and will do this month with more emphasis on green foods. I survived the construction part on fruits and fruits and nuts and some salads..no more..this month is all about me and healthy, green complete foods.See you tomorrow..

Day 1:
Ok, I recently fell of the bandwagon and have been eating very unhealthy... so here's for try #2 of my 30 day challenge!

Good luck to everyone!! You're all an inspiration to me. :-)

Edit 3:58PM - I had an apple between classes,

then went to whole foods and bought myself a sunburger and raw flax crackers (made a raw burger for lunch!)

I plan to have another green smoothie later, or 1/2 of an avocado.

EDIT 9:54PM - I got really sick and nauseous today. I think it was from lack of sleep (had a bad dream last night and woke at 4am, couldn't go back to sleep), so I ended up not eatting anything else after my sun burger. I just had a shower and will go to bed now. Day 1 of raw was a success! I'm really glad to be back on track. :)

I'll do this too. This is going to be a rough month for me so I need to give myself some motivation. On the 13th I head to Bethesda to find out if I have thyroid cancer or not plus school is starting and winter coming on...blah, blah.

I have been about 85% raw for about 3 weeks now so I'm not worried about super detoxing anymore. I am still breastfeeding my little one so I imagine I will be eating more calories and more fat than most of you but I'm ok with that. My goals for this month: stay raw, stay focused and stay happy. :) Oh and I like preparing recipes so will probably continue doing so.

I can't wait till the end of the day to start posting what I've eaten so here is what I've had already:

snack - banana with raw almond butter
breakfast - fruit salad (peach, pear, strawberries, blueberries, pecans, raisins and 3 tsp coconut milk)
lunch - corn-zucchini wraps with tomato, avocado, onion, radish, and dulse flakes and a couple olives

For supper I will probably have zucchini spaghetti with raw marinara. I need to go shopping for some greens. And I have a cold which has made me really lazy - I haven't made a smoothie in two days! So that will be my first order of the day tomorrow.

Hey all! It has been quite a while since I've been around, but I'm back! I'm starting a 30 day raw challenge and thought I'd join the collective effort today :).

Today:
gs: mango, raspberries, spinach, chia seeds
plum
4 lovely celery stalks
salad: mixed greens, 1/2 avocado, microgreens and cucumber
handful of almonds

not sure what else I'll have today, maybe just water and coconut water. I think I'm going to head over to the introductions section to re-introduce myself :).

Hi everyone! I am continuing from the August 30-day challenge. I am still witnessing changes and seeing results, so definitely feel inspired and motivated to continue. Feeling great!

Plums for breakfast (was on a plane), lunch of cucumber and red pepper salad with olive oil, acv, lucuma, and supreme green powder dressing. Dinner was a salad of red mâché, fennel, grapefruit, and avocado topped with olive oil. Some cheesy kale chips afterewards.

One interesting point-- I had absolutely no jet lag when I went to the states as a result of being on a raw diet. Truly incredible. I am curious to see if I have any in this direction. Will keep you posted!

Have a great day!

Hey everybody, I'll be in this month as well.
My goals this time are to eat more simply and cut down on costs. This is a challenge for me because I lovvve creating complex, fancy recipes and leaving no novelty untried. :p

I pretty much missed out on August 'cause of my busy schedule, but I celebrated 1 year raw on the 10th - YAY!

So here I am and hopefully I can check in every day - I really to appreciate the company and the accountability.

Today so far:

Bananas x 5
Green Smoothie
Peach
Strawberries
Sunflower Hummus
Cheeze Krackers
Mango
Melon

Dinner will be a large Green Salad, and I will most definitely consume more fruit before the night is over!

I did this challenge before successfully 2 years ago and should have kept going but didn't. I am proud to say that I have been high raw most of the time since then but want to get back to as close to 100% as I can. I experience too many slip ups if I don't concentrate on being 100% raw.

Overall I feel great, much better than I did before going raw, but some symptoms have returned so it's time to get back on track. I've noticed my sinuses have bothered me more this summer than they have in years. Sometimes I am congested and sometimes my joints swell and ache. I usually experience mild hot flashes a couple of times a day too.

I am also anxious to get to a point where I experience that great energy level that so many people talk about. I know my stamina will improve on raw because it did before, but an increase in energy would be huge to me and would definitely give me a lot of motivation to stick with it.

Started the day with a cup of warm water with a little sea salt and lemon juice. Couldn't quite finish that, I'm going to have to add honey or agave to get that down.

Smoothie with cucumber, goji berries, orange, green apple, dates, and water. I made almost 2 quarts so it went with me to work where I sipped it all morning and finished the rest in the afternoon.

Also had 3 mini "burgers" between tomato, garlic, basil flax crackers, YUM!

Red Grapes
Nectarine
Salad of spring greens, arugula, sliced almonds, dried cranberries, cucumber, bean sprouts, enoki and oyster mushrooms and a splash of Braggs liquid aminos and sesame oil.

For my sweet tooth I'll make a raw chocolate smoothie shortly to finish off the day.

Hi all good going for attacking September head on..lets do this..

I started my day with a green smoothie, had fruit for snack and lunch (even though my goal is to cut down on fruit and add more greens..hmmm), had a wedge salad with avocado for dinner and some nuts for snack later.

Will be back tomorrow..see you then.

Breakfast:
in a very un-breakfast food tradition: Collard green wrap with my Garlic the Great spread and avocado. Homemade Kombucha for drink. I made fresh juiced carrot/ginger/blackberry juice but wasn't feelin' it so I set it aside. Tomorrow's breakfast!

Lunch: Another Collard Greens wrap + a gRAWnola style bar + 4 handfuls of fresh blueberries and probably the same amount in spinach .

Snack: Another gRawnola bar and a half.

Dinner: other half of gRawnola bar (been road trippin all day...), salad with Garlic the Great spread and avocado

I feel good and rather full, in a good way. I was gonna make salsa but I think that might be tomorrow night's mission as I'm not even hungry. Ahh I am reminded why I LOVE raw food, and it's only day one. ♥

Day one... I was away from home so.... Before I get to my day...

What would you eat if your family is eating clam chowder, garlic bread & salad? I'm eating an asian salad but I'd like somthing heartier and yummier than that. Your ideas please :) I need to get raw sesame seed oil, raw almond milk...(?) and raw soy sauce.

For the breakfast and early hours of the day:
some watermelon,
Italian prunes (which I think are actually just small plums),
a little blackberry fruit-leather that I made,
a few raw nuts & seeds now and then,
water,
cold-pressed coffee & almond milk.

Lunch:
I was hungry and for lunch I had some dehydrated chips that I made from corn etc. topped with raw guacamole (yum!)

That hit the spot and took me awhile before I needed food again...

snack:
blackberry fruit-leather,
a few nuts and seeds, water,
another coffee w/almond milk...

after a 2 hour drive;
orange

Dinner:
asian salad w/homemade dressing that includes cold-pressed olive oil, sesame oil, etc.

My tummy is not exactly satisfied and 1/2 of this HUGE asian salad still sits before me... Not exactly sure how I'll fight the evening stomach satisfaction battle.

Hey everyone, it's been a nice long day.
I ended up running late this morning, so I paid a dollar for ONE banana in the food court!
Then I got really hungry at work, so I gave in and had two spoonfuls of pine nuts and spent the next four hours with a horrible tummy ache and nausea. Next time I will chose the hunger instead.
-Dates and cashews
And finally, the creation of the day, pumkpin pie! Mmm so good.

Not exactly balanced, but tomorrow is another day.... which to be honest, I will probably kick off with a slice of pie. ;)

So I woke up late today and didn't have time to make breakfast or lunch to take to work. I went to the grocery store at lunch and bought some watermelon.

Todays Intake:
-A few slices of watermelon
-Small handful of raw cashews
-Mango & Avocado Salad
-Banana Chocolate Smoothie (I know not the best way to start off but I was excited to try it. My boyfriend drank most of it anyhow... he's such a sugar bear :D)

Hi Tru ... here you go ... sort of.

I just looked up Cafe Gratitude's Spring Rolls (I Am Insightful) and found that they are a pretty major production. I guess I've been "cheating" on the recipe for a long time. No wonder they're better when I actually go to Cafe Gratitude!

1. The suggest using dehydrated spinach wraps as the wraps. I've always just used any kind of big green leaves.

2. Almond Hummus. (Makes 3 cups - a lot) 2 1/2 c soaked almonds; 1/4 cup + 1 T raw tahini; 3/4 t freshly ground pepper; 1 1/2 t chopped garlic; 1 3/4 t cumin; 1/4 c + 2 T olive oil; 1/4 c + 3 T lemon juice; 3/4 c water; 3/4 t salt.
Grind all ingredients minus half the water in food processor. Puree with as much additional water as you want to make it creamy.

3. Veggies. The suggest marinated vegetables with a recipe, but again I've drifted away from that and just use carrots, cucumbers, cabbage, etc cut in julienne strips.

Spread 1/2 c almond hummus evenly on greens. Top with veggies. Fold up end and roll. Suggest jalapeno mint chutney for dipping.

Okay, I admit it ... It's late and I'm too tired for all these recipes. I'll try to copy them this weekend. I hope that's okay here ... or maybe there's a recipe thread I should use. In any case, this feels a little more substantial than the usual salad.

I did this challenge today.

Alright,

I've been reading for many months and been around the track at least three times with the raw vegan lifestyle, starting as long ago as in 2007.

In my previous attempts at raw, I found that the volume of fruits, veggies, and nuts I was (over)eating aggravated my Ulcerative Colitis, as it was just too much fiber for my screwed-up digestive system to handle. I've been raw again for three months, but I'm hitting a plateau. I'm starting to get some rumblings of that old familiar digestive discomfort. Bloating, gas, tummy pains....all that lovely stuff. I feel like this is the "go big or go home" moment. It's time for my diet to evolve.

This month, I challenge myself to:

~Stay within the guidelines of consuming only raw and living vegan foods. (I do permit myself to have herbal teas, fermented foods, and warmed-up chickpea miso soup as long as I've made it myself and it's not been heated so high that the miso dies.)

~Exercise daily.

~Eat for nourishment and based upon my body's true needs---not for emotional comfort or entertainment.

If I succeed in meeting these goals I will reward myself with either a used VitaMix or a used Green Star juicer at the end of the month.

Thanks to everybody for your support, in advance! Let's make this a good one.

Hugs,
MelanieBear

a day late but internet was interrupted until now.

dd and I will again do a 30 day raw, we want to continue to see the improvements in our health. her acne is slowly clearing up. we are going to do more veggies this time around as we did mainly fruits in aug.

been eating lots of greens, salad wise. made almond milk twice and I like it w/out anything added. ds NOT so much so i buy silk almond milk and i must say it's better tasting than I thought as I had bought some blue diamond AM and it hurt my teeth it was so sweet. so sneaky me is going to start cutting the silk with what I make until he's drinking 100% my AM.

we had the local grocery store move into their new 40,000 sq ft blding so I'm hoping to cultivate a relationship with the produce manager to see about getting some exotic fruits in.
