View Full Version : Hi everyone
My name's Mary, and I'm new to the forum! I'm 19 and currently in college. Last year, I somehow stumbled across the liferegenerator videos on youtube, and something inside me instantly clicked and said that this is the way to live and eat. My ultimate goal is to be healthy, and I've been incorporating more and more raw foods into my diet, including juices which I LOVE, and some smoothies (still getting used to adding veggies to my smoothies though!) So, I hope to learn a lot more on this forum and meet some great people!

Hi Mary, welcome!
I'm nineteen as well, and fairly new to raw. I agree, it is definitely the way to live.
I've been searching the site for college students who might live in a dorm and are on a meal plan. My school offers a great assortment of fresh fruits/veggies but not enough. Thankfully, there is a Whole Foods nearby, so I'm hoping I will be able to get some things there. I just don't want it to be like last year where I miiight've eaten a little too much popcorn and soft serve ice cream...

Make sure you stock up on fresh foods, because if you find yourself with the munchies at midnight or during a study session and you don't have anything, you'll likely compromise. Make sure that you eat enough as well, if you're constantly hungry you're just going to be miserable.
Also, if you get frustrated when you're first starting out, make yourself treats. I am a huge fan of banana ice cream (just frozen bananas blended), RP brownies, and avocado "milkshakes". Sometimes I even have brownie for dinner. :) It will feel more indulgent and remind you to enjoy your food. If you don't have a blender or a food processor, I would really recommend trying to get one (or both), although I know they can be expensive.
This site has some great recipes and everyone is more than ready to help.
(Also, for adding greens to your smoothies, spinach is the least conspicuous taste-wise. :p Give it a try if you haven't yet).
Okay, good suggestions, thanks!
I think bringing the blender will be my best option for a quick snack/meal!
