And I say it like that because I'm hyper and full of energy after being raw for a week! lol I've studied raw diet for a long time and the more I think about it, the more I realize that I was raw from age 13 to 19. My skin was like porcelin, my weight was perfect and didn't fluctuate (as it has over the many years since) and I remember feeling really great. I considered myself a vegetarian but really just ate a lot of raw veggies & fruit. I have endometriosis (since I was a wee child), migraines and lately just massive lack of energy. I had cured myself of some severe medical problems the doctor's couldn't help with through diet and natural supplements so I have naturally been drawn to the raw diet since the one I used before wasn't working as well anymore. I've started menopause early (I'm 41) because of the depo shot and just have felt lately like I NEED to make significant changes. For my health and to lose weight. So I started the week off with breakfast and lunch being raw and eating cooked food at night, however, last night I couldn't even bring myself to eat cooked food (bleck - the thought just made me not even want to eat) and ended up with a lovely raw ragu marinated salad that was just wonderful! I used to sleep a lot but now I can barely get to sleep at night for all the energy I have! But when I do get to sleep I sleep soundly. Sleep was always an issue for me, waking up in the middle of the night and eating crap! The last time it happened was Tuesday night and I ate raw. I was very proud of myself but it hasn't happened again at all this week. I'm thankful for this forum because it has helped me very much so. So thank you everyone!

With all the energy I have, I have a hard time falling asleep. It can be 12, 1, 2 in the morning and even though my eyes are heavy and my body might be tired, I can't sleep, I feel like I should be up cleaning, running a marathon or exercising...lol.
Sometimes I will take a 3 mg. Melatonin just so I can fall asleep at a decent hour, otherwise I wouldn't get any sleep.
But, I wouldn't trade all this energy for the world. For too long I felt slow and sluggish on processed / cooked foods, now I have the vitality of a 10 year old. :p

Jnk, you could have easily been telling my story up there - I am the same way. I'm trying to sit here and work today and I'm so hyper I can't stand it. LOL

As Aleesha would say, it's blissful. :D

Sleep is important to your health. I am getting between 8 and 9 hours of sound sleep per night.

Welcome! I'm new to the raw world --about a week now. I have lots of energy too--you should see all the multitasking I can do now. I'm a teacher--and school is starting this week. Those students better beware! I will out do them in energy for sure!! Anyway, I think I have noticed a different in my skin too--the forever blackheads (I'm 53 and still had them) are disappearing!
