I'm not sure HOW I got to this site, I'm just glad I did.
Things you never thought you'd know about me (or how much is TMI?)
my name is Ferb-I'm 45<or will be the 25th of this month> I have two children who will be joining me in this lifestyle change. I home school my son Phineas, who's 10, he has a gentle soul with the exception of playing xbox games then he's a terror.
His food has to be both appealing in visual and textural content, he's sometimes down on himself and doesn't believe me when I tell him that he's a great kid (he tells me that I must say that as I'm his mama but I tell him NOPE I don't have to say that, I say it because it's true) he suffers from allergies like myself.
My daughter is Candice, she's 12 going on 40 , she suffers from acne and is currently using prescription meds to help with the outbreaks, and I think she's lactose intolerant as when she drinks milk she get dark circles under her eyes, she attends a faith bases private school with 11 other students. and she will eat pretty much anything and will try new things more easily than her brother. she has never been a fan of red meat, she will eat chicken sometimes so I think she and I will have the easiest time converting to raw.
I have had no energy to do much for a couple of years now, was very sick back in 2008 and spent most of 2009 recovering. I am currently at the heaviest I've ever been I packed on 52 #'s in 09 from eating a very unhealthy diet.
I've been introducing the kids and myself to raw food for the past few days but on the 15th I will be jumping in with both feet and dragging my kids along with me.;) and just from doing some fruit and juicing once a day I can tell a difference in my mood and how my body is reacting.
over the years I've tried numerous things to lose the lbs from 'eating right for your blood type' to the horrible cabbage soup diet which I thought would be the death of me.
I truly believe that now that we as a family have set down and talked about raw eating and they have a better understanding of it we will succeed. and from all that I've read about the healing power of raw foods I'm going to be sharing this with my mother who's suffered from degenerative eye disease for years but she's somewhat of a 'hard nut to crack' about trying new eating plans.
I made the zuchinni pasta and tomato/date sauce night before last and dd requested that she take it to school yesterday. I didn't have sundried tomatoes so I attempted to make it as 'dry' as possible for her. ds thought it wasn't all that good but I ate it for b'fast, lunch and dinner. :)
well I've prattled on enough for now and will end here.
Thanks for reading about me and my family
