I am trying to sprout rice. My health store grocer says he does it all the time. My question is, can you make milk from the sprouted rice and do the sprouts still contain the same sugar content as cooked rice? When I was visiting a friend she was using store bought rice milk it was good but of course it had additives and was costly. I am trying to find cheaper milks to make. I made sunflower milk not bad, needed help add apple to help with taste. I don't like cashew milk. Almond of course is a staple. Was hoping to get a variety of choices. Sesame milk yuk had to dump that. Suggestion are also welcomed. I have also heard of zucchini milk haven't tried that. Yes I am using rice suggested by my grocer.

There are a lot of rice milk recipes out there, although most use cooked rice. Here's one I just googled (I have not tried it) that is raw: http://curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=976126

Found recipe and altered a bit very good
1 c raw rice ground
1/4 c almond ground
1 t cinnamon
5 c water
1t vanilla
1/4 c sweetener
In blender add rice almonds cinnamon, blend dry for few seconds add 2 c water blend blend blend put in milk bag and milk. Put the rice mixture back in blender add 3 more cups water with the sweetener blend again. milk bag again. Should make about 1 1/2 to 2 quarts. Add about 1/4 t nutmeg and you have eggless nogg. Enjoy. I did! Won't that be good over cereal. Less water little more sweetener will make ice cream.
