Good morning everyone,

Today is my 7th day on completely raw. I am keeping things simple. Not much equipment needed, just have a blender and it works as a juicer for me( i use a strainer)

I feel more energic. This is the first day in years that I have been able to wake up earlier than my husband feeling very good.

So, plan for the day
green juice
apple and pear
green salad
goji berries
banana if I wnt smt sweet
gazpacho soup
peaches

Started off today with a whole grapefruit... now I'm hungry again!
So it's gonna be...

Lunch: green smoothie (lots of spinach, 1 banana, and ice)
Snack: a couple of small organic apples perhaps
Dinner: bok choy salad at my favorite restaurant :)

I'm trying again. I apologize for not updating earlier but I am in the process of opening a business and life is hectic to say the least. I am opening a smoothie shop/juice bar in upstate NY and I feel as though a raw food lifestyle will work well with this new endavor. Tentative opening date has been set for August 20th.

Not to long ago I relasped and began living the super SAD way of life. My body became very angry with me and I began having serious allergic reactions and increase salt sensitivity. There was also a bit...er...a little more than a bit of weight gain. I went from 147lbs 5'5 (at the beginning of resuming SAD) to six weeks later on August 1 of 158.8lbs. I know, I know, pitiful. I have no excuse and just allowed the hectic nature of my life to become and excuse for a lot of eating out or ordering in. NOTE: Cooked vegan and vegetarian (I'm a vegetarian) can be SAD too.

For the month of August I am going to focus on a low fat, high fruit, high vegetable eating and plenty of water. I would love to make it back to the 145-147lb weight range in time for the opening of my store as well...but we will see.

August 1: 158.8lbs :eek::eek::eek:
August 4: 156.8lbs
Best of luck to everyone else on the journey...thank you for the inspiration.

Hi!

Today's raw feasts were 2 bananas and jasmine tea with goji berries for breakfast. Lunch again at work - carrot, white cabbage, tomato, mushroom red+green pepper salad with olive oil and pineapple for dessert. Afternoon snack of grapes (with seeds). Dinner was fantastic! I know this is not the recipe part of the forum, but I'm gonna share it anyway (if this irks someone, just let me know!)
Chili! Soaked walnuts and raisins while I was preparing the chili base + filling. Filling: Cut up one zucchini, one carrot, one shallot, 1 T of ginger and tossed in a bowl with olive oil, tamari, sea salt, agave, green powder, chili powder (alot), cumin. Base: made marinara sauce of one tomato, one red pepper, 5 sundried tomatoes (oil packed), garlic clove - processed in food processor. Then put the base in a bowl, ladled the filling in (not the excess water though), drained nuts + raisins and stirred it all up. Yum! Served it with radish sprouts and flax crackers.
Picture of the chili attached for your viewing pleasure. ;)

I try to do this almost every month, and i've never made it through. But this is my 5th day so far and I feel energized, positive and overall great! So why not celebrate and post, right?

B: kale, romaine, banana, orange, ginger smoothie
L: an avocado with nori-sunflower crackers from whole foods
S: carrot-apple-ginger-lime juice (mmm!)
D: watermelon gazpacho (spicy and refreshing)

I'm also experiencing a little detox already today yay!

B: raspberry, boysenberry and blueberry smoothie
L: watermelon and flaxseed w/water
S: watermelon on my spinach salad with lemon juice, not bad!
D: corn on cob and more watermelon

I'm just craving watermelon today. I'll probably have some more tonight.

Today I have been HUNGRY! I'm actually glad, because it was weirding me out not eating much and not being hungry. A couple of the hungry times were when I didn't have any access to food, which was kind of a bummer, but on the other hand it was kind of fun to feel real hunger. My stomach was hungry, instead of SAD hunger, which is very uncomfortable moodwise more than stomachwise.

Anyway, here's what I've eaten today:
banana
rawvolution corn salad
24 oz green juice (cucumber, celery, parsley, spinach, kale, cabbage, romaine, apple)
1 small flax cracker
3 cups cantaloupe
massive salad (spinach, carrots, zucchini, cucumber, broccoli) with raw ranch dressing (a little avocado blended in)

I may have some grapes or a raw macaroon later. Oh, and I walked my dog (and we walk fast!) for 40 minutes, so I finally got some exercise. I keep having trouble falling asleep at night because I have so much unused energy. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to sleep!

love and grace to all!

I've been 100% raw for one week, and I wanted to share my progress, which is already noticeable! Hopefully it will motivate and encourage you!

After just one week raw:
foot and leg swelling (which happened daily) completely gone
acid reflux (I chewed tums all day) completely gone
breathing (I never felt like I was getting a full breath) much better
and I'm pretty sure I've lost about 10 lbs. I'll have official numbers on Sunday.

I can't believe such significant improvements in just one week (and actually, the swelling and reflux disappeared by the second day!).

Keep it up everyone! This is how we're meant to eat!
