I just got my new blender!!!! And would like to start making green smoothies.
I really love a fruit smoothie for breakfast and while I vary the fruit, I will usually add some raw green powder, chia, almond milk or coconut water + some other goodies.
I would like to start doing just green smoothies and was wondering if anyone could guide me as how to start?
I don't want the smoothie to have a laxative effect, so what ingredients would I start with?

Thanks!

I mostly base my smoothies on bananas and just add celery and greens but I have made nice ones with other things. Pears and greens are nice.

I have found that spinach is the least "intrusive" green in my smoothies. That would be good to use if you wanted a fruit tasting smoothie with some extra green.

Regular Kale is bitter, so you would need to balance that, but red Kale is pretty neutral on taste.

Wheatgrass is good as well.

The more greens you add, the better it will be for you. Even if it's just a little in the breakfast smoothie. :)

My favorite green smoothie is spinach, banana, peach, and the juice of a lemon. Add water if you need to thin it out a little.

My fav green smoothie is
2 handfuls of organic baby spinach
1 cup water
2 frozen bananas (in chunks)
1 apple
and a piece of other fruit like a mango, or peach, or pineapple.

Blend it up ... yum.

Maintime, if you remove the stems from regular kale, it cut down the bitterness quite a bit. I remove the stems and compost them.

Thanks to all!

I started today with:

1/2 mango
1 small plum
leaves from 2 stalks of kale
almond milk
chia seeds
sprouted brown rice protein powder

Not bad! I'll try spinach next time.
