Yesterday I woke up with stiff, achy muscles in my neck, shoulders and upper back. I feel fine and have no other symptoms of illness except for the body aches and pains. My old wrist issue also flared up and I can hardly use my left hand. It is bad enough that one would want to take Tylenol to knock it out but I didn't. I rolled on my tennis balls to massage my back and check it out and I am pretty tender.

So I thought about what might have led up to this and this is what I came up with...

For the last two weeks I have changed my diet up a little. I have had fruit til noon (I usually start with smoothie-almond milk-not raw, fruit, hemp, almonds, greens). Then at noon I have my green smoothie-fruit and greens.
Mid afternoon I have that "morning smoothie". Then raw dinner later.
My thinking is that the increased fruit could lead to some cleansing.

Also, a friend has supplied me with alkaline water for the last 6 weeks so my body is used to having that water. She went out of town for the week so I have not had alkaline water since Monday and my symptoms started on Friday. I just use a Britta for water filter. I wonder if it could be the lack of alkaline water. I did not have remarkable cleansing signs when starting the water as some do. (I have been about 90-95% raw for 1 year and consider myself to be pretty healthy)

Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback especially if anyone has experience with raw diet and using alkaline water machine (Ionways water machine). I have 2 scenarios sp? going on at the same time so I am confused.

Sometimes we just get things like this from tension, extra work for the muscles that we don't notice we're doing, etc. IMHO we can't track every little ache and pain to what we eat. Our bodies react to lots of different things.

Just eat what you are eating and let your body do what it's going to do. You don't say how old you are. I'm 65 and have arthritis in fingers, hips, lower back - I know that this is going to flare up no matter what I eat. I do think tomatoes, peppers and the other nightshade veggies may have some impact but not for everyone.

Take a tylenol and relax.

Take a tylenol ..

All the advice BGH gave was good until this. Your body may be detoxing or retracing ~ or.... who knows? Why add more drugs to your system which your body will need to detox again? Makes no sense to me.... but then, movement and tennis balls most certainly does. Good on ya!

The semi supine position was what I used to get rid of my pains but I rarely have to use it now.

I was like this for about 6 months..knee probs a lot. Now..they rarely bother me unless I lean too far from raw.

Thanks for all your replies. Sport-great article-thanks. I still feel achy today with the addition of the forearms aching. I have had a great day too. If this is cleansing from past stuff then bring it on! I am usually pain free at 46 yrs old and really appreciating that. I was adjusted at the chiropractor last week...

I called my mom to gather info about the alkaline water so I am waiting on her to get back to me. If it is the water I just don't know if I want any more of that because I don't plan to buy a machine-$2100.00- and I don't want to go thru this again.

Oh yea-just got Alissa's book and video!!! Loving it:D Thanks Alissa!

there's so much dampness in Tenn from what I remember. When I had bad knee problems, I couldn't go there & then go in a store..the coldness made me almost unable to walk. I was there a few months ago and did great.
