Have you donated blood when fasting? Does your BP run too low for them to take your blood? I would think the iron would be good and all nutrients and calories are coming in just through a liquid form instead of solid...
I usually give blood every few months, so thought I would check.

Fasting and donating blood at the same time is putting yourself in risk.Blood drive are done on campus because otherwise young people forget to go to hospitals to donate blood.Donating blood is a safe process.Needles and bags used to collect blood are used only once and then discarded, making spread of infection to the donor not possible.

The body is already going through enough while fasting. Why voluntarily add more for it to deal with, like blood loss. Why not just wait til after refeeding for a bit. Until you are back to full energy level and strength?

the body isn't going through anything when it's fasting. it's being allowed to do some great healing and cleansing.
i can't imagine why it would matter if you gave blood while fasting... as long as you feel okay... perhaps take a juice with you to have after you give blood but other than that... your body would recover faster than when it's eating solids.

are you feasting, or fasting? I would say, if you are taking in enough calories with juice or smoothies, you should be good to go. If you are doing water fasting, maybe wait till after? Staying hydrated either way is key for anyone giving blood. I am not an expert on this though, I'm not allowed to give blood as I am too anemic, but I have a blood test every 6 months where they take a pint, so this is what I know from that experience. Just remember, that a lot of blood tests require 12 hours of fasting beforehand anyway ;). Recovery juice is a perfect thing to bring with

You are not required to fast when you donate blood. Testing blood is different. I give blood as many times as I can and plan to donate each time a club t school sponsors a blood drive, assuming enough time has passed in between.
Not sure what that person above meant but fasting on juice takes in as many calories as eating can, so I think that wouldn't hurt in any way. Plus, they offer you juice because it helps so much faster than eating something.
I think I would have done it whatever people said, but I was seeing if anyone had direct experience/ Thanks
