Hello, i couldn't resist to a little baby kitten that people was given away from the market yesterday. This is a little female cat she is about one month to 6 weeks old. I felt sad that she was given away so young but i took her because i thought if don't someone else will. She is very shy, gentle and playful. She haven't gone to potty since yesterday. Her little belly is hard.

Just because i am new and i needed food right of way, i bought a natural kitten food. She ate a little bit of that then i got the idea to go to a special place and get her milk for kitten. She has been drinking this since yesterday. Of course, i want to give her raw food but i don't know what to give to a little cat so young.

Now, how do you feed a very young cat on raw food. Do you think that i could try the Victoria green smoothie that i saw posted on this section? When would she ready to have fish or something?

I would appreciate that you post good link on this thread so i can refer to them.

I feed my dogs raw and they have been raw their whole life. Definitely take her to the vet for a check up. You can google BARF for cats. You can also google raw food feeding calculators for cats. Since the kitten is so young, I would start out with some ground chicken, turkey at first. You can also add some chicken livers but only a small precentage.

I saw some pictures with raw meat and bone, i litterally thought i would faint, lol.... Good heaven....

We have mice problem so am hoping our little kiten will be the mice catcher, lol... and get her raw food this way.

Now, if i am to give her food, it has to be only meat with the quick reading i did from your recommended site. I am going to throw away the dry food for kitten that i bought and get something with no grain in it.

If anyone want to add more informations, i welcome them all. I am also glad to report that she isn't constipate anymore but she has been on kitten milk only. I worry about this because i heard it cans give them worn. So i think i will try a can of tuna for her.

Canned tuna isn't something you should habitually feed cats. Here's an excerpt from an article:

* Red tuna may cause steatitis
Red tuna robs the body of vitamin E, and this loss can cause steatitis, aka yellow fat disease. Steatitis is sometimes painful to cats as it causes lumpy deposits of yellow fat under the skin, causing generalized soreness, especially with movement.
* Some tuna contains a high proportion of mercury
Unfortunately, many of the world's waters are laden with mercury and other heavy metals. Tuna and other "top-feeders" assimilate a higher proportion of mercury than bottom-dwelling fish.
* A tuna-only diet is deficient in taurine. Light tuna, canned in water is deficient in taurine and other minerals and vitamins essential by AAFCO standards to cats' health. A tuna-only diet is also excessive in magnesium, sodium, and the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio.
