I am 44, female, and just started my raw food journey three weeks ago. I wanted to make sure I was ready, so I bought my juicer, high-end blender and food dehydrator. So far I am loving it. I have not made the committment to go all raw, but I only eat cooked food at dinner. I think when I gain more knowledge, I may be able to go 100% raw.

Are you going to change your name. You have got to think more positively and call yourself "becoming raw".

Great way to start. You have all options available to you this way. If you don't have LOLF, it's a good place to start. There are other books good as well; check your library or book store to broaden your options and ideas.

I am 100% raw, but have been living alone during this time (my husband has been working in another state). I'll be going to stay with him for awhile and I'm concerned it may become complicated. He eats healthy, loves salads, fruit and veggies, but is far from raw.

Biggest problem I'll have is no "tools" as I'm flying. Where he is I'll have a Bullet blender. Period. Yikes...

Wow... we have almost the same stats LOL I'll be 44 in September and I started Raw a little over 3 weeks ago :)

I just jumped in with both feet and I'm SO glad I did. The first week was unbearable. My cravings were SO intense, but after that, it was a cake walk. I'm already noticing that my hair isn't falling out anymore, my energy level is through the ceiling and I just have this overall sense of calm... like I'm on the worlds best xanax LOL.

I feels so flipping good 100% raw, I can't imagine ever going back.

What I did was try one new recipe a day. I'm still toying around trying to find the things I like best. Some things I didn't like much the first time, but I played around with the recipe a little and find that with some tweaking, I like it SO much more.

You've got all the tools... you are ready to go :) Good luck!

Hi almostraw, like yourself and Icequeen, I'm 44 next February and I too started 3 weeks ago but at about 90% raw. I'm just getting over the detoxing and still waiting for the energy to really kick in. I took my 6 year old daughter to her first calisthenics competition for the year on Sunday and only ate a banana, about 6 strawberries and a cupful of almond, cashews + sultanas and I felt great the whole time. Normally I'm knackered when I get home and then for the rest of the day but I wasn't. I was really happy about that :) I wish you loads of succes. Do you have any weight to release as well?

k8sl8, I've seen videos on youtube about the Bullet Blender and it looks like it will work wonders for you. I'm hunting one down for myself, I think it's that good. I've already killed one blender so I'm looking for something a little more sturdy and the Vitamix is just way out of my league at the moment.

Welcome to you ~ you're in good company ~ on this board (clearly! all the wonderful women in your similar boat) ~ and in raw food in general.

Good on you for going at your own pace and enjoying the journey.
