Hey,
I bought an Omega Vert quite recently and the strainer broke for the second time. The first time I put half a lime in it and it cracked the strainer lenghtways and had it replaced. The toughest thing I juice is carrots and I make sure things are cut up small as to not to stress the juicer/parts. Now I see there is a problem with the strainer again but this time it's the plastic notch at the base of the strainer which is about to come off like a loose tooth.
I am a little frustrated to be honest. I like the speed of the juicer and it's not bad to wash but its out of action waiting on parts as much as it is working and I find the juice pulpy compared to my old juicer.
I was so close to getting the Omega 8006 instead but decided not to and really regret it. I dont really know what to do now- send the broken part away again (its EU to US so takes 3weeks minimum) or write a letter and ask for a refund or exchange for another juicer. Any ideas? Thanks for reading:)

Write a strong email. The stronger the better. Play the victim in a big way and see how they react.

Thanks alot for your response Sport.
Yeah I will write them a letter and tell them I am not happy with it at all. If I want the part replaced I have to send it off to them first before they do anything.
If I get a refund I will ask them to post me a 8006 lol

Tell them that you are going to tell us all about it if they do not satisfy you.

I have the hurom and the strainer basket cracked ... i called them and they sent one out immediately. Had it in 3 days. So, maybe if you call instead of write, you will get a speedier response.

Thanks for the reply leaveamsg
Unfortunately Omega wont dispatch a new strainer until they receive the faulty one and it's from the EU so it takes some time. Luckily my greenstar gracefully stepped out of retirement to keep me company in the meantime. I have to confess I didn't start my letter yet but I will do it this weekend, never wrote a letter of complaint before so its a bit daunting.
Not to turn this thread into an anti Omega Vrt thread but its so good leaving the stalks on the apple when I juice one. They clogg up the outlet of the VRT sometimes with celery

I only got around to sending the email at the weekend and got a reply today, which was very fast in fairness. It is the same lady who contacted me about replacing the screen.
I kept the email short and to the point saying that the strainer broke for the second time and I had to wait along time for the part. I also mentioned that I find the juice pulpy and difficult to drink. I said in my email that I would expect a refund or exchange it for an 8006
She says if I send a picture of the broken part that they can send me out a new one straight away as they are in stock. Finally she said if I wanted the juicer replaced that I would have to get in contact with X, the place where I bought it. Is this correct? I would of thought that Omega would have to replace it.

It would depend on the situation. Likely you'd have to go through the seller because what you paid for it is different than what they paid Omega. Also, because you're in a different country than their office, likely there's even more of a difference with conversion fees. Just make sure you forward the email so they know Omega gave authorization to get a refund or exchange. They sound like they're doing a lot to assist you, which is great.

Thanks for the reply Dimond. I sent an email to the website I bought it off and told them Omega pointed me thier way. I would love to get it replaced for Omega 8006 as I mainly would juice leafy greens too and I know there isnt much reliability problems with the 8006. I also got that photo of the broken screen to omega so I will get my new screen delivered soon.
